We had two nights to stay in Santiago, coming back from Valparaiso. I went on-line and I found Diego de Velázquez Hotel. It was a very good choice. The room was big, comfortable, the location excellent, the underground parking easy to use. But what was really, really good was the help we got from the staff. One expects the staff... More

Friendly helpful staff. Central area. close to subway. we were easily able to walk or catch a subway train to get everywhere we wanted to go. Happy for us have the room u til 6pm then to remain in the bar area for the evening until heading to the airpot at 9 pm. Lots of restaurants and shops within 100... More

This hotel is in a centric part of the city but offers only the basics: tv, wi-fi, hot water, air conditioning and clean rooms. The buffet breakfast was basic and it has no real restaurant. You must eat in an adjacent restaurant they promote. Good for just resting and winding down from spending the whole day visiting the city. Just... More

A good value, centrally placed hotel within walking distance of all the main shops and restaurants. The Front Desk man Julio Vera is especially helpful - speaks English, knows all the good restaurants and patiently explains where to find them on the map. Other points: free wi-fi, nice breakfast facilities, good bathroom. My only quibble is that the rooms are... More

We flew into Santiago and arrived mid afternoon after a 14 hour flight. This motel looked fine from the outside but is deceiving. Having read other reviews it appears we were unlucky but our room was small, old and right next to the very noisy construction site next door. Of course we wanted a shower but alas no water and... Friendly helpful staff, lovely room, really enjoyed our stay! Nice breakfast. Small leak in the shower didn't detract from our stay! Central location meant it was easy to walk or catch the Metro to Santiago's highlights

We booked this hotel based on online reviews for our vacation. We were very pleasantly surprised. The location is incredible, surrounded by many restaurants and shopping, easy walking distance to great areas, short cab right if not. Also felt like a very safe area to us. The staff was wonderful, spoke decent English, and was able to give us some... More

Wow, there are really some diverse reviews for this hotel. Maybe it totally depends on the time of year you are there and the room that you receive. We thought it was very nice. First, the staff- to a person- was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nicely equipped and huge with lots of windows. Bathroom was wonderful.... More

The entry promises much with a grand sign above the front door. However that is where the good news ends. We had asked on the booking for a quiet room but we were placed on an end room right next to a building site putting up new apartments - so from 9am to 9pm it was so noisy you couldn't... More

Tidy and clean hotel, great staff who went out of their way to help us when we got in about 1am. The breakfast was good with fresh fruit, pastrys, hot food etc. Great location easy walk to restaurants and subway. People wre freindly and many people could speak english a lot better than I could speak Spanish.
