We are three gay gays traveling South America and took off from Santiago a weekend and spent one night at Maison de la mer. From the bus station it's a hard walk up the hills but you can get there easily by taking the micro bus 612 O, just tell the driver where you are going. Also when you have...

Hilarious and quirky place. We were met by the two guys who ran the place who speak French and Spanish so they found my confused mangling of the two together very funny. We were able to park our car in their little lock in garage. Downstairs is a lovely little bar and common area with comfy chairs and a table...

We stayed for 3 nights here. The room is comfortable, everything is really clean, breakfast is nice too, prices are correct. Best part of staying here are Bernard & Edmond! :) they are amazingly friendly, help you with everything (even did our laundry!) and made our stay excellent!

Centrally located in Cerro Yungay, 5 minutes walk from La Senastiana. 25 000 CLP for a double room. Hearty breakfast and the owner offered more coffee or bread. Bernard is a nice host. Give it a try !

Friendly owner, hotel with lots of character. Room was basic but good and clean, breakfast also simple but good. Location worked well for us, easy to walk to all the sights, and nice view from the back garden (especially in the dark, with all the lights).

Hostal Maison de La Mer: when you enter, you already know what you'll get, a place with a lot of character and a long history. The owner is very friendly and gives a lot of explanation of Valparaìso: good places, some ideas to dine and/or drink, and in a very French way. When we stayed at the hostal, there was...

Stayed here for three nights in early January. What a great stay it was. The owner, Bernard, opened the door for us very early in the morning. Yet still giving us a warm welcome. Breakfast was good and the advice on which neighbourhoods to avoid and what we should see was good as well. The beds were comfy and the...

Super nice little hostal near La Sebastiana. French speaking owner. Excellent price (one pf the best in town) and very clean. Strongly recommend for budget travelers! One little downside: bring earplugs for the dogs, there are many and start barking non stop when the sun rise.

A little blue house on the hill. Garden in the back where one can pick fruits (ripe apricots in January!) and hang laundry to dry. Rooms and bathrooms are a bit old but in perfect working order and clean. The computer is VERY old (therefore slow) but there is Wi-Fi. Common kitchen for cooking and keeping stuff in the fridge....
