The matrimonial room was really tiny! We barely could put our bags in there. The wifi was terrible and people were restarting it every few minutes, luckily after 2 hours my husband changed the settings of the router so that all guests could connect at the same time. The hall is dark and gloomy and the hostel doesn't have any... More

I was actually just visiting this place for about 30 minutes, I waited in the loung area for my friends who had checked out that day after staying one night. Once they arrived we sat there and the owner (I think) came and said you've checked out you need to leave now, the lounge area is for current residents (It... More

We stayed at Polanco for three days and enjoyed very much. It is a good, cheap hostel and a good alternative for those pricier ones up and down the street of Urriola. It is located close to everything, good dinning, art and the citycentre is just down the street. The hosts are so lovely, Orlando and Danae are welcoming, helpful... More

Central, yes. Tiny room for the matrimonial with shared bath, so tiny we had to pile our bags to get the door open. No lock from the inside, so bags were piled by door to securely keep it closed. Bathrooms not very clean, with intermittent scalding water and ice cold water. Daytime receptionist is the most unfriendly and miscommunicating person... More

Omg this place is horrible! They should tear the whole building down! It's taken out of a horror movie! Really the only thing missing was a dead guy in the bathtub! And we paid 90 000 clp for New Year's Eve and 40 000 clp the day after, a total rip off. And when we booked it said including breakfast... More

Hostel Polanco is a cozy, pleasant backpacker's hostel and one of the cheapest places to stay in Cerro Alegre, the bohemian district in Valparaiso. It's on a street near some of the cutest cafes in the area and just up the hill are some to-die-for views of the city. Karina, the woman who takes care of the hostel, is sweet... More
