Not sure that wandering around the neighbourhood after dark would be not recommended. Although the staff were welcoming and very friendly many of the hotel facilities are rather dated which adds to some of the charm of the place. As noted in several of the other reviews, noise at all times of the day and night is a problem. In...

Checked in on Friday early evening, to be told there would be no hot water until 10-11am the next day; told us they would offer a discount for the inconvenience, but nothing came of that. The next morning at around 7:15, there were workers outside our door knocking down a piece of concrete wall with a sledgehammer to start fixing...

This hotel is in a great location in the old city, close to the Plaza Grande but in a fairly quiet street. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and advised on getting around and on safety issues. We had a room on the third floor and they took up our cases. It was at the back so we were...

This is an adequate but slightly dispiriting hotel. I stayed on three occasions. Some rooms are small, some huge. Most are dingy. They are clean and have a safe though. Some of the rooms are on the third floor. There is no lift and staff did not seem keen to help with cases. The location is good. There is free...

I was booked here by a tour group prior to leaving for the Galapagos. I came 2 days early to tour Quito. I had a very small but adequate room. I had to fight with the shower to get steady hot water, very reminiscent of India! That would be my only real complaint. The hotel is walking distance to Old...

We stayed here on the first 3 nights of our Ecuadorian vacation, and then stored luggage while we went adventuring into the mountains and returned here again for our last nights. We loved the location, the historic beauty of the building, and the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms. Super cool art work, a nice common "kitchen" area to store...

My husband and i spent two nights at the Hotel Plaza Sucre at the end of November, and we were very satisfied with both the hotel and the location. The hotel is not very big which suited us very well, very quiet, and nicely decorated with Ecuadorian art. Our room was facing the inner area, which means it has windows...

We are a family of four who recently stayed at Hotel Plaza Sucre during a trip through Ecuador and the Galapagos. The location of the hotel is fantastic - very walkable to all the sights of Old Town, and yet the rooms are quiet. The staff (especially Mario) are also very friendly and helpful - and very good at providing...

When we arrived at 11:00 at night I was really sick and resigned myself to the fact I would probably be in bed for a few days. The room we rented was adequate, but my husband scoured the place and found suites on the third floor. After some negotiations we opted for a 2 bedroom suite with balcony and kitchen....

great hotel, no issues; i liked the character of the hotel and it was close to many key places in Quito which we wanted to explore . Otherwise no complaints, quiet area, felt safe. Street is hard to find but otherwise good.
