"Casa Alquimia" invites you to immerse yourself inside the richness of a city where not only the colonial heritage, but also the enigmatic nature of the Andean world converge. Enjoy unique spaces that offer harmony and comfort, and live the maximum experience in a completely restored house with more than 300 years old, which is part of the magic and beauty of the historic center of Quito. We are located in the "heart of the Historic Center of Quito". Calle Rocafuerte y Guayaquil, in front of Plaza de Santo Domingo and 30 steps from "La Ronda". The house is located to five minute walk from the Plaza de la Independencia, Plaza de San Francisco, Iglesia de la Compañía and a variety of museums. The rooms are very spacious. What a gem!, what a beautiful place!, what love from the owners: Silvana and Isaias. This place is an oasis. It is not sophisticated or luxurious but it has all the charming and cleanliness you demand. We were a family with 4 small kids and were given and nice and super big room with 4 beds in a corner of the second floor. Big success. Breakfast is huge with Juices, Fruit, Bread, Omelettes, etc We even hired Isaias as our guide in historic Quito and it was a blast. 9 hours with him, all smiles, car transportation included, tailormade itinerary and barely 100 usd for the whole day: churches, museums, teleferico, panecillo, mercado artesanal, etc. we ended up having beers and pizzas with the owners at the hotel. Casa Alquimia is an excellent choice and you can walk to any place. would repeat

A wonderful oasis in the Centro histórico. Hospitality is top notch at this family-run hotel that goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The setting is spectacular - a colonial house renovated with exquisite taste. The rooms are gorgeous. The rooftop terrace is perfect setting for breakfast overlooking the old town. Walking distance to all the amenities. Loved our stay. Came back twice!

This stay was a highlight of my S. America trip, for the simple elegance of the property and the wonderful hospitality of Silvana, Isaya, Lenin and the team. This Casa feels family-run, highly caring and full of guidance and recommendations for a stay in Quito. The rooms are spacious and clean with local design touches, and the large square atrium around which the rooms sit is decorated with carefully placed objects from this history of the building across centuries of ownership by families of different professions from legal to medical. And, there is a wonderful pride in the breakfast, served on a roof-top dining room. I had never been to Ecuador and glad Casa Alquimia was the first stop I arrived to, to settle in. I'm really grateful I stumbled on Casa Alquimia.

Words can’t describe how lovely this trip was. Bringing my parents here for their 48th anniversary and dads 72nd birthday, Savannah, Isaias, and Oswaldo welcome us with open arms. As the owners of this beautiful historic site, they were attentive making sure we had everything we needed! The breakfast was delicious and healthy and the rooms by design are so rich in history it makes you not want to leave! A few tips- bring an hdmi cable to connect your laptop to the television to stream Netflix from your pc. Room 4 is beautiful and gives you head on views to Santo Domingo square (it can get noisy at night but it’s part of the experience) . Use the translator app on your phone it will help with language barrier! Thanks to Oswaldo and Savannah I actually learned more Spanish by paying attention more! The altitude is the 2nd highest and i did not know that before coming here and as a physically fit person walking half a block is indeed exhausting so make sure to find some “coca” tea (not cocoa) to help with an energy boost in breathing! I LOVE ECUADOR!

Casa Alquimia is a beautifully remodeled colonial mansion a block from La Ronda in old town Quito. My room was gorgeous and very comfortable, the common areas were cool and funky, and the breakfast was delicious and intimate with a tremendous view of the Virgen de El Panecillo. The location could not have made it easier to see the sights of old Quito on foot, or to hop in a cab or on a bus up into the more modern parts of town. But for me the most memorable part of my stay here were the friendly and welcoming owners. They arranged for me to be picked up at the airport at 1:30 a.m., they were warm and gracious hosts at breakfast, and they gave me solid advice about how to travel around town. It was such a pleasant experience, and at a remarkably reasonable price. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
