Just stayed 6 nights at this budget hotel in Quito. The location in the heart of the Old Historic City can't be beat, very comfortable and clean, the owners are the nicest people, I asked about visiting a city (San Antonio) about 3 hours from Quito, expressed that I really had reservations about going on return day trip and the...

I spent a week at the Quito Cultural in Nov. 2011. I found it a hidden gem! Alicia is the best. She was helpful in every way possible. The hostal was very clean; the rooms were clean and comfortable; and the rooms were always cleaned and made up every morning. The breakfasts were delicious. Special requests were always honored. The...

We arrived at the hotel after 1am and the check in was easy and quick which was great as we were both so tired. Our room was really nice and clean, we had a lovely view of the pedestrian street and the basilica in the distance. Breakfast was included and was a juice with either coffe or tea, bread roll...

My wife and I stayed at this hostel at the beginning of October. The location is fantastic, the owners wonderfully warm and friendly, the breakfast small but delicious. Our room was big, very clean and not too noisy. I had some trouble with the WiFi, but it was sorted out easily. We would stay here again without a moment's hesitation!

The best reason to stay here is its location in the heart of the Old City. I was in relatively easy walking distance to most of the major religious sites. What I also loved about the hostal was the idea of staying at a place that felt so authentic. The architecture of the building is in a traditional style and...

Alicia and her family and staff do everything possible to make your stay at the Hostal welcoming and comfortable. Also, I had an unfortunate experience my second day in Quito (I was mugged) and she went out of her way to help me get a new passport, etc. I would have been lost without her help. The hostal itself is...

My wife and I spent 6 nights at the Hostal Quito Cultural. The location is great only two blocks to the main square. We were on the third floor and asked to be moved from the front to the side. The trolly which runs in front of the hostal is noisy and rattles the room. The side room was much...

Our stay at Hostal Quito Cultural began a bit shakily. We had corresponded with the hostal for over a year, making certain via numerous emails that our reservation was in order and that the offered airport pickup was scheduled. We arrived in Quito on a late flight--11:00 p.m.--and our driver was not there, nor did he appear. Fortunately, we were...

First of all - DON't stay in the completely overrated Mariscal unless you're the type of person who travels around the world and then goes for a drink at an Irish pub. Second of all - Quito's old town is safe, interesting, historical, very charming, lively, full of stories and has the Hostal Quito Cultural. Third of all - Hostal...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hostal Quito Cultural born of a XVIII century building at the hands of a French architect, this house currently consists as a heritage of Barrio San Marcos the oldest in Quito. With a rich pre-Columbian history, the capital of Ecuador was founded on the ruins of an Inca city, but offers everything a modern traveler may need. Still one of the best preserved historical sites in Latin America and the UNESCO declared world heritage. The location of the hostel is convenient because it allows travelers to move around the old Quito and know all the baroque jewels, like the monasteries of San Francisco and Santo Domingo, as well as the church and the college of the Company. The hostel rooms have all the amenities to make guests feel comfortable and can enjoy their holiday as they deserve, our main seal of the fraternity is offered by our staff. ... more   less
