I recently stayed 5 nights at Dawn's Lodge. Located in Old Quito and within walking distance to many of the places to visit in Old Quito. Luis, the owner, and his family are very welcoming and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Luis went above and beyond helping to flag down taxis and actually accompanied me to...

I gave this a 5 star because the service by the owner, Louis, and his family was absolutely outstanding. He helped us flag down and instruct safe cabs, made calls to Spanish speaking businesses in our behalf, walked us to the bus stop to catch the right bus, walked us to the right stores for our specialty gift buying needs,...

We had a very nice stay at this hostel and actually came back twice during our trip to Ecuador. The owner, Luis, was extremely friendly and helpful. Whatever we liked to do while in Quito and in planning trips to other places, he presented us with all of our options, told us which buses to take and even drew small...

Luis was a fantastic host! My husband and I spent two nights at Dawn's Lodge, one prior to our departure to the Amazon, and one on our way back home. Luis was incredibly accommodating, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious, and he happily answered any questions or concerns we had about navigating the city, and any side trips we...

Safe is a loose word as a traveler to Quito knows there are pockets of safe. Clean, friendly service and nice rooms. We enjoyed the view from our room as well. A good place to crash, set up and get on the go. Family friendly and good security in place. Easy location and would recommend.

From the second we arrived, which was 4:30 am, we were welcomed like we were family. Luis had no problem with us coming at such an inconvenient time. He took us right to our room & made sure we had everything we needed. The room was plenty spacious enough & nicely decorated. There was some noise from the street but...

My wife and I spent four nights here on a quick trip to Quito. The owner, Luis, picked us up at the airport ($35), which was helpful because we didn't know the city and it seemed like a good deal (I don't believe they have uber here; taxis are not expensive but it's a 50-minute ride unless there is absolutely...

My sister and I stayed here for our final night in Ecuador after an epic 3 week adventure throughout Ecuador and the Galapagos, and it was the perfect choice. We were met (a little late) by a taxi driver at the airport, arranged by the Hostel, who was very helpful and smiley (not much English but very gentlemanly). On arrival...

We spend about 7 nights over 4 different visits to Quito in Dawns Lodge. Luis was one of the greatest hosts we ever met. He is very service oriented and always ready to help. This one time he even walked with us to the bus station to make sure we were going on the right local bus. The rooms are...
