Casa Helbling was our home base during 5 weeks of travels in Ecuador. The staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating; rooms and common areas were clean, spacious and comfortable; location was perfect for walking everywhere; and breakfasts were generous and delicious. We felt among friends every time we passed through the door.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our 9 day stay at Casa Helbling. Hubert and his staff were warm, friendly and Hubert has a good sense of humor to boot.. The hotel is close enough to the Mariscal to be within easy walking distance, but far enough to avoid the noise. My group rented three rooms all...

Good location in the Mariscal district but far enough from the noise. Breakfast not included in the room price. Clean rooms with hot water. The room we were in was quiet (BARBIE). Great customer service, Hebert is funny and Geraldine was super helpful helping us get out of Quito on the eve of a holiday.

This place was recommended to me by the Amazon Lodge where I stayed. Well, I would say this place - the service was just ok even if the surroundings and the quality of the establishment were very nice. The beds are good, hard yet comfortable and the blankets are very warm. The 6 bed dorm when I stayed the second...

We stayed here four nights in a dorm for $8 a night. We liked it so much we stayed again when passing through a wk later. It's not a party hostel but offers a warm welcoming and comfortable nights sleep. It had a well equipped kitchen and was only a couple of blocks away from new towns eating/partying district. The...

A very pleasant experience. Rooms are clean and generally comfortable although some are quite small and look out over utility areas. German owned with many German travelers. Staff is very accomodating. Simple breakfasts available. Conveniently located in the Mariscal district.
