When we traveled to Quito not a lot of budget options had been available. We choose Colonial house mostly because we wanted to stay in Quito's old center, rather then in New Town (where you will find lot's of hostels and lot's of party).
Colonial House had a really nice vibe about it. It's just off, but really close to the old town, within a lovely little slice of cobbled and quaint streets.
