Very pleasant stay, comfortable beds in large sized rooms. Sometimes water could be a little slow to heat up but otherwise great showers. The staff at the hotel were very helpful as I used the hotel as a base whilst travelling to and from the city.

The La Cartuja is a small building located close to many shops, restraunts, markets and park land. The building was beautiful and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond every time anything was requested. I would definetly stay here again

We stayed here as part of our Intrepid Ultimate Galapagos Central Islands (Daphne) tour - if you want to see my long and comprehensive review of that tour, look up my forum posts (in the Galapagos section). I think 3 things are critical to hotel stays - Location, Sleep, and Shower. LOCATION: 3.5/5 Right near a large park and a...

Quito has an average evening temperature of 45-50 Far. And this hotel has no heat. It was cold at night even though they provided a lot of blankets. It did have a good location near the Mariscol de Sucre and nice restaurants. Would not recommend.

This hotel is simple, but it has a real charm about it. It's not your average corporate hotel with no personality. The staff are incredibly friendly and always eager to help. We stayed for 2 weeks and they knew we were getting a bit bored of the standard eggs and fruit breakfast, so they occasionally made us local breakfast dishes...

Nice old place filled with character and friendly hosts. A group of 6 of us stayed a total of 4 nights on two separate occasions. There is no bar, no air conditioning and no heat but none of this was missed. Neighborhood felt safe and it was relatively quiet. I would recommend. The rooms vary in size considerably but none...

Stayed here as part of our Intrepid tour before & after Galápagos, we ended up staying a few extra nights. 2km walk to old town of Quito, 1km to La Mariscal with lots of restaurants. Less than 1 km to super market. Parks just down the road. Very clean and tidy with nice courtyard to relax in. Wifi good. Staff...

Staff were angry and possibly overworked and unavailable. We were not informed of wifi. Night staff disappeared without trace. Someone was sleeping on a sofa in the lounge with a blanket over their head! Was that the 24 hour service? There was no drinking water provided and only one clean glass and after drinking the water from the tap we...
