I was told to stay here by a friend who had visited a couple of years before. When I arrived the hostel was being renovated and so it wasn't quite what I was expecting but it was still such an excellent stay. The dude who owns it was so so willing to help me with tips on what to do... More

The staff were really friendly and the hostel is in a good location in the Mariscal. They helped me organize a ride to the airport for a good price and seemed to attract a friendly clientele. Rooms were clean and wifi was speedy.

PRIVATE ROOMS FOR $20-$30, SHARED FOR $10-15. CULTURALLY DIVERSE AREA WITH PLENTY OF SHOPPING, RESTAURANTS, MUSEUMS, AND NIGHTLIFE. Owner Tony speaks English, Spanish, French, and possibly more. He is a very fair man who hires employees locally and even travelers if they need work. "El Cafecito" is in a great location and the staff will assist you in planning other... More

Sometimes you come to a place because of the people. That's with cafecito, where Tony is the owner. We were lucky, it was quite that afternoon and we sat there to discuss life with eachother for hours. Tony served his coffee, helped us out with our trip to the Galapagos, danceclasses and another day gave a great tip to go... More

Tony knows what's up. Wonderfully located hostel and cafe in La Mariscal, just a few blocks from the Plaza Forch and an excellent night life. Excellent vibes, freshly made coffee, and really nice conversation made this visit more than expected. The happy hour is superb, and you must try the patacones. Also the brownies. Pleasant outdoor courtyard/patio area, nice music,... More

It's a really nice hostel, clean, spacious rooms in a grand old house. The outdoor terrace was a great place to relax and the staff were really helpful. Great location, 1 min from Plaza Froch. Breakfast highly recommended, although not included, variety of options, (not just bread and jam!) and unlimited coffee. Drinks offers are really cheap in the bar... More

I was recommended this hostel from a friend. It is quaint, with a good restaurant and other young, traveling backpackers. It is a good price for what it offers. I didn't explore the area too much, but it looked very safe with things to do (laundry, pharmacies, banks). It was about a 20-25 min drive from the international airport. The... More

Everytime we travel to Ecuador, this is the place in Quito where we stay since 2010. The atmosphere is great. It is cheap but great value. Not all the matrasses are the best, so check them before picking you bed/room. Tony, the Canadian owner is a super friendly host and someone for great conversations. He gave us some great advice... Stayed here twice whilst I was in Quito, dorm rooms are cheap and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Wifi was patchy but the service was excellent, they have a bar/restaurant which serves really nice homemade food and cheap cocktails. It's a great location if you want to be in la mariscal and it's very safe. I would recommend the... More
