A friend and I stayed here for one night on the way to the Galapagos. This is a very good hotel in an excellent situation in the old town. Our twin room was very comfortable and clean and breakfast was adequate.

We stayed 5 nights here. Our first room had no window and we asked to change it the following morning to bedroom 1 which had a window and a view to the interesting street below. The hotel is very cold and we asked for a heater for our room which helped considerably. I think gas heaters in the courtyard area...

This hotel is very nice looking, with a beautiful covered courtyard, and a terrific location in the historic center of Quito. But the rooms have no windows. The rooms have no A/C or heating units. I've never stayed at a hotel that had no infrastructure before. Breakfast is adequate.

Management response:

Dear Andru, Thanks for your comments, we appreciate them. This is one of the 5 oldest houses in Quito, a colonial House, in that time people liked their privacy and kept in doors, so Houses of that time don't really have too many windows or balconies, that's why some of our rooms have indoors windows, but they do have windows,...

Perfectly located for exploring the old town. Built round a pleasant courtyard offering a comfortable seating area for socialising with friends and other guests. Very helpful staff. Oozing history - the dining room was once a jail.

The rooms are fine. Internet was great. The staff were helpful. I was here new year's eve and nothing nearby was open for dinner nearby. The hotel has no restaurant, other than the included breakfast, which was really bad and chintzy. The interior lobby was quite pretty.

I stayed at the hotel for about a week over 2 separate occasions. The hotel is extremely well located, a 5 minute walk from the main square. It is very safe and the staff are very helpful. You can keep bags stored while you explore other parts of the city. The main courtyard is a good place to relax and...

We stayed in hotel San Francisco de Quito for two nights. It is located in the historic area in Quito and is within walking distance of many of the best "old town" attractions. The hotel itself is a beautifully preserved building that was once a family home and stable. We enjoyed the bright inner courtyard and the unique rooms. The...

Stayed here twice on the way to the Galapagos and on our return. Medium priced old colonial building that was once used as a prison, very convenient location, lovely central courtyard for relaxing, staff very helpful.

We stayed here as a couple for the first two nights of our time in the Quito area. The central part of the hotel and the main entrance lobby are beautiful, and a nice area to take a break from the noise of the city. Our room on the other hand was a few floors up and away from the...

Dear Hannah, Thanks very much for your comments, they are definitely going to help me to improve some things around here. I really appreciate you took the time to write. The restaurant is located in one original tunnel found in the last reconstruction of the House in 1997, it has an amazing History so people feel attracted for this. Thanks...

Our first room on the 3rd level was oddly shaped and the bathroom had a bad smell and no hot water in the shower. After 2 nights we moved rooms and it was better and had hot water. So, my suggestion if possible is to look at a few different room because they are not all the same. We skipped...

Dear guest, Thanks for your comments, they always help us to improve. For example we just improved breakfast thanks for one of our guest comment, they are very useful to us. WifFi is offered just in common areas for sure, since it's a very old house with more than one meter wide walls is difficult to have Wi Fi in...
