I had a great experience at El Relicario del Carmen! The recently renovated hotel is very charming, plus the location in Quito's Old Town is unbeatable! The staff were VERY accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a very comfortable and friendly to stay in Quito!

A very secure hotel as you have to ring to have the front door opened! Whilst staff weren't always fluent in english and our spanish almost non existent, the staff were so helpful it just didn't matter. You couldn't ask for any more from staff, very caring and attentive to your needs. Lobby area is gorgeous and breakfast room lovely...

Arriving into Quito around 10pm and then driving from the airport arriving into the city can be a long 1.5 hrs. The very winding roads and steep inclines with deserted streets makes you wonder where you are- and if the driver knows where he is going. Pulling up to the street lined door hotel at 11:30pm we were sure we...

We really enjoyed staying here as a family. The owners and staff were all very helpful and attentive. The breakfast and rooms were all prepared with care. Located in the old city, near the main square, it is a good base for exploring Quito.

Stay at this place! The rooms are lovely, the lobby gorgeous with local art and furniture art, the breakfast delightful and the staff could not be nicer. Enjoy Basilica views from the 3rd and 4th floor landings and some rooms. The location is perfect in the historic city center (2 blocks from Plaza Grande and Theater Plaza).

We really enjoyed out time at this small, hard to find, but gem of a place in central Quito. Unless you know it is there, you can easily miss it. However, once inside was a fun place - lots of art, artifacts, old furniture and even a England Red Phone booth. It was very quiet while we were there, in...

This hotel is conveniently located in the historic district. The rooms are on the small side but comfortable and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and included in the price. I would definitely stay there again.

Recently stayed at the El Relicario del Carmen and found it quite nice. The rooms are small but beautiful and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful. It is a little hard to find but centrally located and a good price.

My daughter and I stayed here for just one night , but the entire experience was delightful. The refurbished colonial mansion is filled with beautiful antiques, paintings and carved wooden furniture. Would definitely return.

The hotel is very nice. however, my camera Nikon D800 & Lens Nikon 28-300 was stolen in the hotel lobby on Apr 15, 2015. I just left them on the table for filling a hotel registration form, just next to the front desk hotel. It's unbelievable.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A truly historic house, dating back to 1705 has just opened it??s door as a hotel with 18 comfortable rooms. It is beautifully renovated with great emphasis on the original details and has all the comfort expected today, including a central air conditioning system. All the furniture is handmade by recognized Ecuadorian artisans and many original paintings decorate public and private areas. You will live in a real historic surrounding. The hotel is definitely declared non-smoking. It is located a block away from the main square "Plaza de la Independencia", the Government Palace and very close to many historic monuments of Quito. We also have an exclusive dining room and coffee-shop. ... more   less
