We arrived at about 1:00 am after informing them we were getting in on a late flight. They informed us they weren't going to honor our reservation in spite of us having a printed copy. Then they hinted they'd find us rooms at twice the price. Efforts to get our deposit refunded were unsuccessful. On top of that, our Ecuadorian...

Staff very helpful but hotel really needs major renovation. The location is OK, close to the bus and local restaurants but after dark it is advisable to take a taxi. We stayed on 2 occasions and both rooms were quite rundown.

You get what you pay for and this hotel is good value for money. Friendly staff always happy to help, some language barriers but I'd never judge somebody else in their country on my inability to speak their native tongue. Clean and good food. There is also a cafe/restaurant somewhere nearby that sells the most amazing chocolate cake.

I am travelling solo on this trip and the staff at hotel had a hard time understanding my Canadian English. They could not break a $50 bill either and want cash up front each day staying there, where I was hoping to pay by credit card. Breakfast was to be desired as I was given 2 big buns of bread...

We stayed here one night to rest up after a long flight from the States. We were travelling in a group of 4 (family & friends). So we got a 4 bed room with private bathroom. The room was very simple but clean. The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well. Can't really complain about much, except the...

Stayed here for one night at the beginning of November. We had a twin room which was very dated, however the room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. For the price i find it very hard to complain, our twin room was 21.50 a night- which was half the price of our hostal in the Historical centre....

The carpets in the rooms were disgusting, years of filth. The bathrooms were clean, and plenty of hot water. I don't want to put on here the questionable people I saw here. You wouldn't want your kids there.

I have recently stayed at the Hotel Majestic and after reading the review “Really, really dreadful area”, thought I would post an alternative view. While definitely not the best hotel I have ever stayed in, I thought the hotel majestic was ok. The rooms were clean, and quiet. The décor may be slightly dated, but that’s the case in many...

It was strongly suggested to us to stay at the Majestic as a part of our Galapagos package with Tucan (& Adventure bound). The agent strongly suggested to stay at one of their selected hotels as that’s where the rest of the group would stay. The idea was that we would meet other people on the tour, have a meeting...

“We booked this through HostelWorld. They rated this very highly and were not helpful in resolving the problems we had with Hotel Majestic. There are a lot of good places to stay in Quito. Find somewhere else.”
