Traveling with a friend. I'm currently living here in Cuenca but scheduled a tour that only picks up in el centro. My visiting friend decided to rent a room at the Hotel Crespo so we could be picked up locally. She paid about $130 for a Saturday night. I'm pretty sure we got one of the only rooms with a...

This hotel was a treat. It is classic older hotel, but they keep it very clean and nice. The staff was very nice and easy to work with. The hotel was safe and had beautiful views of a river. The food was ok, but not great. The city of Cuenca is a place you don't want to miss if you...

There are better hotels in terms of value for money, but this is a nice place with great location, fantastic views and large rooms. The service is adequate and efficient. It can't be confused with a cozy pension or bed and breakfast place.

Beautiful old style building. Nicely kept and located on the river. Pricey, but worth every penny for a special occasion. We would have liked to stay longer, but not in our budget. CASH will get you a discount.

Basically we liked this hotel, but the walk to our room was extremely long and involved lots of steps. We had several heavy bags and that made it worse even with help. The location on Calle Larga is conveniently in El Centro, but be very alert to the chance of petty crime in this area. Purse snatches, pick pockets and...

Hotel Crespo is a little tired but clean and very safe. The staff are not overly friendly and waiters in the dining room were not all that attentive . The hotel is in a good position and has a good breakfast. The room was spacious, lots of hot water and internet was provided free. The hotel backed onto the Tomebamba...

I'm 67 with over 40 years of travel writing experience of which this was the worst. The Crespo lost my prepaid 1800hotels reservations and even tho I showed them the voucher, my credit card debit and their web page on 1800hotels, they insisted they never heard of them OR me and I was "pulling a fast one and must remain...

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Crespo very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included was a great touch, especially the fresh fruit and juices.

Hotel is not too far from the city center. At a leisurely pace, you can walk to the Nueva Catedral in about 15 minutes. Taxis are plentiful and any location in the city costs about $2-$3. Hotel Crespo is on the banks of the Tomebamba River. The rooms are not modern and have 40’s-50’s charm. Our room and bathroom was...

My friends and I stayed at Hotel Crespo for 4 nights in May of 2008, and it was great. The hotel was very accomodating to us as tourists, and the rooms were very comfortable. We were in the old part of the hotel, but that was not a problem. Our room was fine, and had an amazing view of the...
