I loved this place. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were changed as often as i wanted. I was permitted guests as often as i pleased. A fifth floor balcony provided a nice view and a quiet place to unpack the day. Jenny was the night girl when i stayed and she was lovely. The daytime lady was very nice...

We were going to stay here but the owner wanted to charge us $70/night! Yes it was over the holiday and yes they have a right to change their prices. I just don't like when it is advertised over the net for one price and a walk-in are charged as much as they can. Unlucky!

We have found that the location is very good. Close to the river. Close to Central Park. Super value for the money. Very clean. Friendly staff. I was able to use kitchen to make tea in evening and was able to use refrigerator. There is restaurant in lower floor but we were on the upper so limited noise.

The good: location and views. The bad: smelled bad despite overtones of chemical cleaners. Desperately needs a makeover. The ugly: toilet didn't flush in the first room "fix manyana" Don't think so. Changed rooms. Toilet also not working properly but worse - might as well have used a teaspoon to shower with - no pressure and only warm water. Ended...

Stayed here for a week for new year. Very central location. Was a little dated and basic compared to places I usually stay but it us a hostel after all. I could not praise the staff enough. They were so helpful and welcoming. Good price and could not fault it. They included a breakfast and there was use of a...

Thought I had a reservation but when I arrived there was no one there, literally. This after climbing the 6 floors with all my gear. The security grate was closed and although a tv was blaring no one came. I stayed about 30 minutes banging and knocking and yelling but no one came (it was about 2 pm) Finally went...

Admittedly, at $34/night for the two of us, it was a bit of a splurge, but Cuenca is Cuenca ergo prices all over are higher than we normally like to pay. Yet we feel that warm afterglow of satisfaction that arises from having gotten what we paid for and more. Bathroom-spotless-and cleaned every day. I looked under the bed as...

Excellent customer service =) I came with my grandma , the hostel is very comfortable clean, unbeatable location. The view from the kitchen/eating area is great. It is walking distance to Parque Calderon, the Cathedrals, etc. Good value for breakfast included. 100% recommended.

We stayed only briefly but enjoyed our stay. The older man who was running the place was so friendly (although speaks no English) and was more than helpful in directing us where to go to eat and what to do in Cuenca. We stayed in a private room with private bathroom with TV and wifi and had no complaints except...
