We enjoyed our stay at Mama Simona: The hostel was pleasant, clean, and had friendly staff. The location was good, about a 10 min walk to the main square. We had a private room. There was some noise each morning as people left early for tours, but it was typically fairly quiet at night. The hostel was good value, good vibes.

My parter and I stayed at both locations (Cuzco and ollantaytambo) and where very pleased. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They both felt very clean. Beautiful garden in ollantaytambo to relax by after hiking around the ruins and Machu Picchu.

Fir a hostel, this was decent. Very affordable. I suggest getting a room with its own shower- only a few bucks more but much better than using shower in hall. This place is safe and secure and a quick walk from all main areas. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. There are lockers to leave you stuff while you...

Stayed here before and after the inca trail, it's a safe, clean and charming hostel with good beds, friendly helpful English speaking staff, breakfast included and free hot water or coca tea. Charming hostel nearby the main square of Cuzco. Can highly recommend this!

This hostel has a great location and very friendly and devoted staff but these are only nice aspects of this hostel. Room I got was on the 1st floor. Room windows were situated to lobby and common corridor. It means that you not only have closed curtains and window all the time but participate in each single lobby conversation, hear...

3 of us stayed here in a dorm room for 3 nights before we left for the Salkantay Trek. We loved how easily accessible the main square was and how quiet the environment was. The only downside was the wifi. It rarely worked but it wasn't the end of the world. We enjoyed having coca tea available at anytime in...

Mama Simona was recommended to my bf and me by a friend. Friend obviously does not have much experience staying in fun hostels because this one was sub par. Cusco is a city filled with cool hostels, and there are a lot of other more exciting options with better amenities and better vibes than this one. I would recommend Mama...

I spent five nights at Mama Simona while I was exploring Cusco and I would recommend the place to anyone looking for something comfy, cheap and central. On the plus side: affordable, free breakfast, friendly common room, shower that always works (really big plus) and clean facilities. On the con side: dodgy Internet, creaky floors, and the duvet could be...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more   less
