I arrived at Amaru curious but skeptical, having been talked into joining a dear friend on an intriguing but not-necessarily-my-kind-of-thing experience. I left Amaru blown away by a transformative and transcendent experience. Right up there with the birth of my kids and marriage to my wife. Yup, that big. Slocum, the owner and "head guide," described Amaru one late afternoon...

My stay at Amaru has helped me grow on so many levels, it has changed me mentally, spiritually and emotionally whilst at the same time reminding me how beautiful and simple life should be. This was my first experience with plant medicine and in my 14 day stay I managed to get a heap of work done. I had the...

My experiences at Amaru Spirit have changed my life. I arrived in June with two friends. They stayed for 10 days, and originally I booked for 14 days but extended to my stay to 21 days. (The flexibility of the centre to accommodate the individual is one of the advantages of this place). I returned to Amaru a month later...

I came to Amaru Spirit with my wife and spent 8 days in the jungle. The setting of the property right in the middle of nature was beautiful. The cabins are wonderfully light and spacious. Surrounded by birdsong, chirping crickets and cute monkeys we felt totally engulfed by nature, disconnected from the information overload of everyday life - bliss! In...

I'm an early-20's solo female traveler, and rightfully so, had some reservations about traveling by myself into the jungle of Peru. I had done as much research as I possibly could have before booking my trip and found myself coming back to Amaru Spirit's site many times, so I decided to book my stay for May/June of this year. Hands...

Amaru Spirit is a wonderful place that challenged me in every way. The 7 day tobacco cleanse was life changing...period! I can't wait to do it again. The results have been nothing less than spectacular. I love this place and will be back soon.

An experience at Amaru Spirit in my view is "a must". All the plant diets will detoxify your body and clear your mind of everything that has been absorbed by our body and mind during life by eating bad and encounters with negative experiences. Slocum is a great guy ready anytime to share very useful advices on living and eating....

I stayed at amaru spirit in January...I was in such a bad place mentally and needed an holistic remedy for my spirit and soul, upon arriving it was quite pleasant but attacked by huge mosquitos before I even got to my hut! I couldn't complete full course of ayahuasca due to medical reasons but felt isolated by most of the guests...

Hi Meltem B, We are sorry to hear that you were less than satisfied with your stay. But we find your accusations highly offensive. We take great pride in the services we provide and there are a number of positive reviews that praise our high quality of care. Many guests return to us time and time again seeking our tobacco...

It has taken me a while to write this review as I felt like I did not have strong enough words to convey the impact of my stay at Amaru or to express the love and gratitude I feel for Slocum and Nikkie that is just immense. I stayed at Amaru for 4 months and it is, without a doubt,...

I only visited for 5 days, but I walked away with so much! I arrived a little...
