Stopped here for a Pisco Sour during our tour of downtown Peru. It was a fun hotel to walk through - the lobby is very antiquated and beautiful with a large domed stained glass ceiling. Enjoyable for a cocktail!
Even if you get a room in the inner courtyard, the faintest breeze will nave the window rattling all'night long. Rooms facing the main square are outright unthinkable. Athmospheric hotel in a strategic position but definitely run down. And not so clean.
We had kind of a creepy night here. The building is dated, musty and in places downright dirty. The doors have no deadbolts so there is that little bit of anxiety as to whether the door is really locked from the outside or not.The furnishings...More
Grand hotel , very spacious room , with en suite. Cooked breakfast which we had to select from options given to us by the waiter. Excellent location , walking distance from many attractions including the presidential palace. Very helpful and polite staff.

I went through this hotel as part of a tour of Lima. I enjoyed its architecture very much. A wonderful lobby with a dome, an old Ford car in the next room too. Our guide said that this place has the first elevator in Lima....More

The area where Gran Bolivar is located is reasonable but it does get a little dangerous the further you go from the square.Miraflores is more of seaside location but you need to take care there as well.
