Along with other reviewers, I stayed here as I was part of a G Adventures trip and this was our starting and ending hotel. I flew in a day early so spent an extra night at the beginning of my trip. The rooms are very musty, my shower head only worked on the side which made it interesting trying to...

Just a one-nighter before my Machu Picchu trip, and when I arrived it felt quite good compared with the trip from the airport! A short walk from the coastal path, but a long walk from any tourist-type restaurants. Staff were very friendly but I didn't eat at the restaurant.

G Adventures had selected this hotel as our meet-up and final stop off for our Machu Picchu and Amazon adventure. Having come from an excellent hotel just a couple of miles down the road, this hotel left a bitter taste in our mouths. Staff were rushed, rude and miserable and the rooms themselves smelled damp and musty and were in...

Stayed before and after G Adventures tour, both for one night only First was in room on floor 3. No water available, smelt damp and dusky in room. No wifi and no hot water. Breakfast rubbish. Our second one night stay was, however completely different. We were on 5th floor. Nice room, clean, loads of hot water and pretty fast...

Initially we were impressed to be informed that we had been upgraded to a suite. The room size was impressive but it did have a damp smell and presumable that is why the window was open on our arrival. A couple of things did frustrate us. When we got out of the lift in the evening the hallway was dark....

I stayed here as part of my GAdventure tour... first, at the start of the tour, then at the end of the tour. I stayed in room 504 at the beginning of the tour and that room was terrible. Firstly, the room smelled like they were trying to cover up the mildew smell with Febreze - it was nauseating. Secondly,...

I spend three nights at the monte real hotel. The first one you friend and I found two bugs in bed, one dead and one alive, disgusting. The bathroom was leaking and it would get all wet. The second one was after a week because I was doing a tour. That room was smelling really bad and I couldn't sleep...

Nice big windows in clean rooms, breakfast not great. Reception staff limited English useless in locating passport details they had copied at check in when passport was lost (not at hotel). Ended up giving up as they clearly have no filling system and we ended up looking through lots ourselves to no avail.

I was worried about staying here after reading the reviews, but we didn't have a choice as we were staying there through G Adventures. My fears were confirmed: we planned to stay for three nights at the end of our trip. The toilet broke at 3 am and flooded the bathroom, everything smelled like mildew, and the front desk staff...

Stayed 2 nights in Room 306 before our GAdventures tour left Lima, awful, nearly choked on mould smell in the room, bed dirty, just generally grotty. Stayed one night again at the end of the tour, our tour guide had been onto the hotel with our complaints and this night was on 7th floor in a room that was clean...
