Clearly the attraction here is the proximity to the ruins of the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. The hotel is very good but maybe the poorest Belmont I have ever stayed in. Reason might be the missing competition since this hotel is the only one next to the Machu Picchu entrance. However, the food and drinks are very good...

Stayed during our visit to Machu Picchu. Location is obviously special, but the hotel is very dated/old. Stayed at the Belmont (same owners)hotel in Lima, which is new and remodeled, but this needs serious work. Had dinner. The Foi Gras I sent back. Was undercooked. The sea bass (Corvina) was okay, steak kids good, risotto was good. The room is...

Being at over 8000 feet above sea level, in a very remote area, the hotel meets all the expectations of any 4 or 5 star hotel. One takes a public bus from the local town for a 20-30 minute very winding road along a mountain, and when you get there it is such a pleasant surprise to see this great...

My wife and I purchased the "full board" package and we are very pleased we did. We arrived at this beautiful property at about 12:30PM. The hotel took care of our luggage as soon as we got off the Vistadome train in Aguas Callientes. Check-in was quick and easy. Since we were early, our luggage was stored while we were...

The only convenience/plus this hotel has is that it is at the base of the entrance to Machu Picchu Citadel so you just step out and in to the park after a long line, this being said my room #23 was the size of a match box, with a small window that looked at a white wall. The staff in...

An unique hotel on the top of one of the new 7 world's wonders. Since the moment you arrive to the hotel, there is a smile to welcome you, then at the front desk the girl who made us the register was so kind, I think she named Ximena, she was so nice with me and my family. The food...

Beautiful from "hello". As you enter the Belmond Sanctuary, you pass by some trees called "Angel's Trumpet" which feature beautiful, white flowers which hang downward like elongated trumpets announcing your arrival at a very special place. Appropriately named due, in part, to its remoteness, the Belmond Sanctuary is a pricy, all-inclusive establishment that allows you to literally stay at the...

Another quality product from the Belmond hotel group. This hotel is right next to the entrance to Machu Picchu so allowing one to get access to the historical site in the early morning well before the crowds are delivered up the mountain in their scores to feast on the treats of Machu Picchu. If the weather allows one can rise...

Stayed at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge April 6-8 and had a great experience! We also took the Hiram Bingham train to and from Machu Picchu. Yes the location is right next door to the entrance, that makes it a scrum outside and on the steps. Noise from the bus queue and arrivals from opening to closing so ask for a terrace room. We had one of the suites room 28 which was lovely but was on the bus side of the hotel. Nice terrace and...
