Hotel rooms are in a beautiful location facing mountains and overlooking gardens, despite being next to train station. The in house restaurant is great. The best salad I have ever had. Excellent food all around. The service is kind and attentive and they and definitely tourist friendly. Good atmosphere with nice art on the walls.

My husband and I loved our stay at El Albergue. We spent 3 nights here in June as a way to acclimate before spending the day at Machu Picchu. The staff were really helpful and set up a ride for us from the airport at Cuzco to the hotel, while stopping at various Sacred Valley sites along the way. It...

I could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the El Albergue!! Not only was the location perfect for my day trip to Machu Pichu (right next to the train), but the staff, food, and rooms were perfect! I will definitely come up back, and make sure to ask for Julia!

Good management. Helpful staff. Clean premises. Nice table setting; I always like white tablecloths. Decent alpaca steak. Alpaca burger was not as tender. We went here after we tried trip advisor's #2 restaurant , where @2 p.m. the kitchen told us it will open in ten minutes. Two hours later restaurant#2 still looked empty from the street. At least 50%...

The hotel was delightful throughout. The location is, of course, fantastic - never had a train pass within 20 metres while having dinner before! Our room - garden - was super comfortable and quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was superb.

On initial approach I was concerned as the lobby is on the station platform, but then we were escorted through beautiful gardens to our spacious and well appointed room with a verandah and easy chairs overlooking the garden. The adjoining organic farm is lovely and we appreciated the ecological and community values of the hotel. Dinner, prepared with a lot...

Possibly the very best food we had in Peru - truly world class. They have their own farm adjacent (ell worth touring in itself) and after a day tromping all over Machu Picchu there's nothing better than stepping off the train right into a stunning dinner.

The hotel was very charming and the our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. A great convenience is being able to enjoy a wonderful breakfast or dinner on the property of the hotel. Departing trains are stationed 10 feet from your hotel which makes it very convenient if moving on by train. Aside from hearing the train...

Our tour company booked this hotel for us and the location was great for those who plan to take the train but we had other complaints. The in room safe wasn't working (low batteries) and they had misplaced the key so we had nowhere to put our valuables. They told us we could just opt to not have our room...

For those exploring the Sacred Valey and Macchu Pichu, Ollantaytambo is a great alternative location to hang out instead of staying entirely in Cuzco or Agua Calientes. El Albergue sits at the end of the village, right on the train track. This gives the place serenity and a unique setting to watch the countless trains to Macchu Picchu pass by....
