Our meal at El Huacatay started great. We enjoyed the olives and bread free appetizers. My husband was a little bummed that the exotic lasagna was not available but we each ordered different trout main courses. Service was a bit slow and we were eagerly looking forward to dessert. I told the waitress that we both were going to order dessert while my husband was in the restroom . She brought menus opened to the dessert page and then she disappeared. Totally never to be seen by us again. Another waiter came by to tell us the kitchen was closed and we could not order dessert. It took him at least 15 minutes to bring the bill. When my husband pulled out his Visa card the waiter asked “Didn’t the waitress tell you we do not accept Visa?” And of course, she had not. We left without dessert and without a lot of the cash we had just exchanged. Yes the food we had was good, but the sign on the door said it was open until 5:00 on Sunday and we were told at 3:55 it was too late to order dessert. Marilyn St Louis
