Our family of four had a great time staying here. The casita was perfect, with a loft with twin beds for our two boys, ages 10 and 13. Barbara and Robert were very welcoming and helpful when we needed to make some additional plans and travel arrangements. The bunny in the garden is adorable! It's a lovely place.

Casa Colibri is beautifully situated in the Sacred Valley. it is a perfect place to have a breather in a busy itinerary visiting Peru. The individual casitas are very comfortable with excellent warm bedding for cold nights. The beautiful gardens attract many birds and the setting amongst the Andean mountains is stunning. Excellent for recharging your batteries. We were royally...

This is an ideal place to stay if you are visiting Machu Picchu or the Sacred Valley. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to return to after busy days in the Andes. Flowers bloom everywhere on the property, even in the winter. "Colibri" means hummingbird, and yes, there are many. The owners, Robert and Barbara are delightful and attentive....

My son and I had a perfect stay here. The gardens are beautiful. The adobe casitas are quiet, perfectly and beautifully appointed. The attention to conservation and ecology is in keeping with the sense of Pachamama that infuses the Sacred Valley. Attentive and knowledgeable owners. A sanctuary which is the ideal place to stay when you are exploring. We loved...

Casa Colibri lies in a quiet lane on the edge of Urubamba, hidden from view behind a high wall. The casitas are of a very traditional adobe construction under shallow, tiled roofs and arranged informally, effectively enclosing a large private garden. The garden is extensively planted with native and cultivated shrubs and flowers and was ablaze with colour when we...

We stayed at Casa Colibri for 3 nights and my only regret is we couldn't stay longer! Barbara, the owner, is amazing! Even before we got there, she was always super responsive with emails and gave us advice for things to do in the area-going way above and beyond. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff; Barabra, Rita...

First of all Edwin and Rita are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I only stayed 1 night, but Casa Colibri was very accommodating and had everything I needed. My girlfriend and I felt very at home and very safe. Make sure to check out all the beautiful flowers and the Hummingbirds!

What a fantastic place to acclimate and begin our 18 day journey around the Sacred Valley. My husband, son and I spent our first 4 days in Peru here just relaxing in the lovely gardens, watching the hummingbirds and soaking in the beautiful mountain views. Barbara and Robert are truly hospitable and caring hosts. Casa Colibri is an authentic eco...

Me and my parents stayed in the lovely casitas of Robert and Barbara on their first night in Peru. All 3 of us absolutely loved the peacefulness, their sustainable approach, their stories and actually all of it. The enthusiastic stories of Barbara about their garden, and just the entire atmosphere in their lodge. I highly recommend their lodge for everyone...

We stayed here in May. The hosts - Barbara and Robert - were friendly, welcoming and informative. The grounds of Casa Colibri are stunningly beautiful and very peaceful. Casa Colibiri is a great central location for exploring the sacred valley - and infact just up the hill above the lodge is an Inca ruin. We would definitely return to Casa...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Colibri eco-Lodge is centrally located just outside Urubamba, close to all the archeological sites in the Sacred Valley. Trains to Machu Picchu are only 20 minutes away. It's at a much lower altitude, (2900 mtrs) than Cuzco, (3400 mtrs) so it's perfect for your acclimatization. The casitas are sited around a large central garden with native trees, winding paths and scented pergolas. The lodge is our project in sustainable living. For us this means doing our best to conserve resources for future generations, avoiding waste and living in harmony with our environment. We have created a series of thriving organic kitchen and flower gardens hosting wildlife from hummingbirds and parrots to bees and butterflies! Special interest groups are more than welcome... Our yoga groups appreciate the purpose-built meditation room and the tranquility of the gardens, and foodies always leave wishing they'd booked a longer stay :)Above all Casa Colibri aims to be a relaxing and homely base, from which to explore all the wonderful sites around the Sacred Valley. ... more   less
