This hotel is an impressive hotel hidden inside the outer walls. A well manicured garden surrounded by mountains. A very nice hotel with comfy rooms, great breakfast selection and friendly staff. If you are heading to Machu Picchu make sure you book this hotel, 40 mins away from Ollantaytambo train station.

Lovely reception / dining area. Fantastic bar lounge retreat area with open fire and good food. Rooms did not have a fridge nor AC but we did not need theses as weather was pleasant in March. Entertainment was great with dancing horse presentation. Overall good stay with fine dining menu to select from. 4.5 rating

Dear Gary, Thank you for your review about the hotel. We feel rewarded to know you enjoyed our facilities and our food and it´s wonderful to hear you enjoyed the Peruvian Paso Horse dancing show. Hotel La Casona De Yucay Valle Sagrado at first appearance is like many hotels in Peru, with an rather dowdy street appearance not providing a great first impression. But the La Casona De Yucay has a lot of old world charm set in very attractive grounds once inside the outer walls. The restaurant was great with a good selection of...

Dear Donald, Thank you for your comment. We´re glad you enjoyed your stay at La Casona de Yucay. We have been remodeling the hotel the past three years and we are now in the final stage which includes the rooms in the colonial section of the hotel and the front facade which will soon have a completely different appearance, in...

My friend and I stayed here only one night. Which was very unfortunate. The room, customer service and restaurant were all way above expectations. I recommend this to everyone. The only thing that was even an issue( if you could even call it that) was that it wasn't right in a bigger town. It was only a little walk. However...

Dear Charlene, Thank you for your review about the hotel. We feel rewarded to know you enjoyed our rooms, our restaurant and our service! Yucay was chosen as a place of solace and rest by the Incas. It is irrigated by the Urubamba river and possesses great beauty, apart from being very fertile. During Inca Pachacutec´s period it was an...

A lovely oasis place but we never saw another guest during our overnight stay. Beautiful expansive gardens. Rough cobbles to room made trolley luggage hard to move. A small shower but lovely hot water. Large clean room. Only 2 towels & two hand towels. 2 shampoo but no conditioner. A hair dryer. No tea/coffee facitities in room but 24/7 coca...

Dear Eliza, Thank you for taking the time to write a comment about the hotel. We´re glad you enjoyed your stay. We have recently renovated the hotel and still have some renovations pending. The staff is very nice and helpful. The grounds are covered in orchards and gardens full of fruits and veggies and herbs that are used in the restaurant. We did not know what to expect as this was our first time. But it was a pleasant surprise. They have several nice courtyards. The rooms are of decent size with comfortable beds. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Great WIFI coverage in the facility. Breakfast was good. Dinner needed some improvement.

Dear Ian, Thank you for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay at our hotel! The city of Cusco lies at 3,400m ( 11,150 feet). In contrast the altitude level of Yucay is 2850m (9,373 feet) which makes a big difference. It is a wise idea to come to the Sacred Valley first, to acclimatize and prevent altitude sickness....

Nothing from street, but once thru the iron gates you enter pebble and paved courtyards and beautiful gardens. Friendly and welcoming reception. Our room was very comfortable and modern. Breakfast was included with our booking and a good selection. Drinks at the bar and dinner in the restaurant was great (no problem for a Coeliac).
