Communication with the hotel was minimal. They omitted to tell us the transfer we'd arranged had changed operator so we had to make our own arrangements to get there. The room was at least clean and was serviced every day (except Sunday). But the whole place was very tired and the photos on the website must have been taken at...

Place was very dated & basic, needed paint work. The beach not suitable for swimming as rocky and goes onto the coral flats, no lagoon in this area. Rooms weren't as shown when we were booking, we were expecting a studio with garden views a little deck, what we got was a studio looking at the neighbours junk yard. The...

A very basic but cheerful accommodation option. The rooms have everything you need - kitchen facilities, two beds, fans and bathroom. The rooms are serviced daily (except Sunday), fresh towels are given and the rooms were clean. A few things to note: - The rooms aren't very soundproof so bring some ear plugs - Reception hours are limited (8am-3pm Mon...

positive: directly at the beach, 10 min. walking distance to town center, bus stop in front of the door, very casual public areas with big terrace (ocean view), good value (45€, apartment, single occupancy), internet available (charge), toaster/coffee/microwave in the room negative: noisy (very thin walls, chicken start crowing very early), even though this may be difficult to avoid, but...

The staff is not there much of the time (they worked less than 8 hours a day and do not work on Sunday), however, they are all very friendly. Location: Aside from its more affordable price, the best thing about this inn is its location. Though it is not very centrally located, it is still quite close to the center...

10 minute walk to downtown, on Ocean (but you don't see the ocean from your room). Clean, comfortable, large rooms with refrigerator and microwave. Small store next door. Great deck overlooking Ocean. Good reasonable place to stay. Great front desk staff-- extremely helpful! Small hotel (about 17 rooms). A fair amount of deferred maintenance in common areas and outside.

The staff here are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and have just what you need. The Inn is located right on the beach with stunning vistas of the reef. Great communal space and an easy walk into town.

This is a very economical, convenient, and friendly place to stay in Avarua. It is not fancy and is even getting on in years but is an excellent choice for a basic hotel. It is right on the beach and the location is within easy walking distance of a number of cafes and restaurants as well as the centre of...

Big, split level recreation room at the end of the building with lounges, tv, books & games. Excellent view from rec area. Can walk into Avarua in...

Sure, it's simple, no hightech, no fancy furniture - it's not a Hilton! BUT for people who are still adventurers inside, who have outgrown youth hostels but don't want generic hotel chains, it IS paradise. So friendly, so laid-back, the building is an old South Pacific dance hall, lots of history and charm, I even saw humpback whales pass before...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Paradise Inn, Rarotonga is the perfect place for travelers looking for value for money. We have 16 serviced units nestled in a peaceful location between the mountains and the sea, yet only a few minutes walk to downtown Avarua. The terrace, bar and lounge have breathtaking lagoon and ocean views and are yours for relaxing, whale watching, meeting people or enjoying a meal al fresco. A beach before the reef offers our visitors the prospect of sunbathing, a stroll along the beach, low tide reef walking and spotting starfish, coral and the small colourful reef fish that populate the lagoon. As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner on the terrace with a drink from the last "Honesty Bar" in the South Pacific where cocktails and tall tales are the order of the evening. ... more   less
