This place, a short drive from Navala Village, is unassuming, but envelops you in its laid back charm. It contains rustic dorm-style accommodation, or cabins that accommodate 2. I assume that it is not quite the place it was in its heyday of the 1990s. Nonetheless, Tui is an easygoing and capable host, always ready for a laugh and good...

We stayed with Tui at the Eco lodge for only one night but we had the most incredible experience. Tui is the most wonderful man, very warm and kind and makes you feel at home instantly. He cooked wonderful food, probably the most organic and clean meals I've ever eaten. The lodge is basic but that's the beauty of it!...

We recently did a homestay with Tui and all we can say is that we were really treated as part of the family. Tui is really a nice man and he is very proud of his Fijian heritage. He was very detailed in explaining Fijian culture such as differences in preparing kava for village chief and friends. Although there were...

We were lying outside looking at the stars until we fell asleep, had a swim in the mountain river in the morning. Spectacular location in Fiji highlands. Tui is a wonderful host and I hope one day we have a chance to re-visit. It is difficult to reach Tui sometimes, so I will just put his contact info here for...

I loved this place! It was a taste of real Fiji, up in the peace of the beautiful green and lush mountain. The bure (hut) was comfortable and cosy and Tui was a fantastic host who consistently overfed us every mealtime! He's a very honest and friendly man who gave us a kava ceremony and guided us around the stunning...

We stayed there in Septembre 2015 after we had passed 10 nights on the really touristic Yasawa Islands. It was really different in the highlands, you shouldn´t miss going there while you are staying in Fiji! The landscape is beautiful, the lodge is situated close to a river you can swim in, Navala is definitively worth a visit, you can...

We absolutely loved our stay at Bulou's Eco Lodge. The location is beautiful and quiet, just 15 minutes walk from Navala and the Bure we stayed in was cute and had everything we needed. The best thing about Bulou's Eco Lodge are the hosts: Tui spoiled us with great home cooked (and in part also home-grown) meals and answered all...

This was my first time in Fiji and I am so happy to have seen both sides of this beautiful island country. There is the lovely blue waters and touristy attractions and then there is the deep cultural side of Fiji that not many get to experience. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Tui who is a gentle soul....

It was initially hard to get in touch with Tui, but we finally did and he met us in Ba and drove us to the lodge. It is a lovely trip into the highlands on a road that is partly dirt and partly sealed. The lodge is basic with a large building with the kitchen and dining area. We stayed...

While planning our 17 day trip to Fiji it was important to me to have a mix of island life, resort-ish, budget and swishy and a cultural element. Bulou's definitely fulfilled the cultural and budget elements and was an experience we are so glad to have had. It was difficult to get in touch with Tui in advance to make...
