At the bottom is a list of how this stacks up against other places we stayed while in wonderful Fiji. Being Fiji, anywhere you stay is going to be great; nothing should totally ruin the experience, because the people and landscape are just too amazing. Check-in at the Sands

Very outdated hotel. Minimal amenities. Shower doesn’t work. Rooms are very dirty. No beach chairs. Beach is not swimmable. No hair drier. No towels before 10am . I recommend eating somewhere else. Location is very remote and it takes hours to get anywhere on the island to take

Wonderful, friendly staff but they are let down by dated decor and a lack of maintenance to this hotel. Remote location and very pricey food and drinks make this a place I can not recommend or would return to.

Hi, yes it is around 15mins max by car We stayed at Tambua Sands - perfect - and other family members stayed at The Outrigger, renting a car from a local rental guy made it a lot easier and more affordable than getting taxis. Cheers

Food at the resort is very good and is usually between $20 - $30 Fijian dollars. Cocktails are around $20 and beers $10 or so. Depends what activities you’re after. We went snorkeling at a marine park nearby which was $65 Fijian, but other day trips to Cannibal Cave, etc. can be around $150+ Fijian
