However, the rooms are quite spacious, clean and cozy. The bed is enormous, but it was too soft for my liking - therefore the overall rating "very good".
I initially stayed in a room with a view, but it was a bit noisy, so the hotel staff kindly gave me another room, which was much quieter.
The breakfast offered a variety of food, mainly local dishes, which I enjoyed.
I also dined at the restaurant one evening, and the beefsteak salad was delicious.
The coffee in the lobby was average.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
As for the location, the hotel is close to two shopping centres, while the centre of Sarajevo is a 4KM taxi ride away.
A hot continental style breakfast, extremely friendly and helpful staff, good wifi, near shopping and transportation. (pro tip, arrange with the hotel transportation from the airport, otherwise it is a nearly 50 KM taxi ride!) Laundry service is available, I am not sure about dry cleaning. Although, they may be able to set it up for you. You will be hard pressed to find similar service for the price.
Nasa soba bila cista i odobna. Hvala lepo na divnoj posjeti! Vidimo se!
I was staying on the fourth floor and it seems as if you have to be on Holiday to get to your room. Very slow and uncoordinated elevators makes it easier and quicker to take the stairs (at least going down). Key card tend to malfunction so it could take some minutes to get to the reception where it often was a line (at least during the Sarajevo film festival - could be the hotel was superbusy and understaffed).
I would give credit for great water pressure in the shower in the tub.
I wish a cockroach had been removed from the barhroom but that insect also gives flavour to an old building.
Talking of flavours, I’d say the best thing with breakfast was the coffee. Dry bread but some fresh fried eggs served in a room that also could have worked as a class room.
The hotel reception was quick at ordering metered taxi for you. It was only a few minutes, a couple of kilometers, to the charming old town.
My room was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was so hard that I had to sleep on top of the comforter and even still, I would wake up with a sore back every morning. Additionally, the air conditioner in my room barely worked. My second day there, I asked about the air conditioner and was told by the staff that there was a problem with the HVAC system on my floor but that they had fixed it. By "fixed," I guess they meant that the air conditioner was now circulating warm air, rather than hot air like before. But because of how hot the room stayed and how hard the mattress was, I barely got any sleep in my 3 days there.
There were other inconveniences, too. The internet was slow and went out regularly and my room key stopped working 3 or 4 times while I was there and I had to go down to the lobby to get them to reset it.
The staff was overall pretty dismissive and unhelpful.
The breakfast was pretty good though, and was really the only thing that I liked about this place.
Rude staff when checking in
Expensive, quoted £120 euro at desk, quick check online the same room same hotel booking.com £93 euro, he then dropped it to €87 euro, why try rip me off in the first instance?
Dirty breakfast area
And if you come for breakfast after 09:30 don’t expect any fresh food just the stuff thats been sat there since what i can only imagine sunrise, dried and shrivelled cold food.
