I felt like a queen.. Hrvoje at the reception and Kristina in the kitchen welcomed me late in the evening, let me choose the room I prefer (size, view), made me feel really comfortable since I was travelling alone, first time in Zagreb.

They prepared sauna just for me and in the morning they served me all the time with breakfast specialties.. I felt as I'm at home with my own service available non-stop.

It's super clean and cosy hotel. I also checked, before coming here, other more popular and more expensive hotels but hospitality and experience was nothing comparing to this one.

Due to corona, not many guests were in this hotel and everything is disinfected and staff wearing masks all the time.

Highly recommended as surely one of the best and perfectly clean - freshly refurbished in a more than 100 years old building.

This is my taste, hopefully you'll have at least as similar experience as I had.

Location is great, I forgot to mention, Antonija at the reception - genuine smiling and offering me to stay bit longer than usual and all other staff I encountered in this hotel.

The hotel is in an excellent location with a number of restaurants nearby such as Noel. They're also also sites of interest ( the tunnel, city centre etc ) within a 30 minute flat walk. It was cool at this time of the year dropping to zero but the plus is very few people so all exhibitions, parks, tours etc are easy.
The hotel is also easier to book and is not crowded. Staff are all friendly and multilingual. They work hard to make you stay a good one. Breakfast is excellent and staff will also take orders for items not available on the banquet area.
There is a downstairs bar but not always manned. Just tell reception and they send a person down for drinks or tea and coffee.
Room is well appointed if not large but we spent little time there. TV channels are a bit limited compared to other 5 star places.

Stayed in this hotel on our way from Zagreb to Egypt. We arrived at this hotel little late and could not enjoy all the things this hotel has to offer but it was a great hotel with great service. Our room was very comfortable and they had a separate sitting area. The shower was well-designed and the hotel decor was classic but very tastefully done. The service was great and the location was very good for the Christmas stay and activities they have during the Christmas. I would definitely stay in this hotel when I visit Zagreb again.

This review is just for the restaurant which doesn't have a separate Trip Advisor page from the hotel so I apologize to the hotel for the one star.

I visited Zagreb in October and did some research on hotels and restaurants before my stay. I came across Le Premier and saw some reviews about the Italian chef Stefano Cosattini having earned a Michelin star in the past on two separate occasions but I couldn't find any information as to when and where that was. I was therefore surprised to see that his restaurant wasn't even mentioned in the Michelin Guide. However, I read what he had written on the hotel's website and thought that I could have a nice experience there.

I was really hesitating and thought that if I didn't go there I would regret it but I never thought I would regret if I did go there.

I walked into a nearly empty restaurant on a Friday evening. The waiter told me a group of people had just left. Some tables had obviously been removed probably because of the Covid crisis and the restaurant just seemed empty. There was a French couple there who were staying at the hotel and the man was arguing non-stop with the waitress then with the restaurant manager and ended up walking out.

I would have left myself as I didn't fancy being in a completely empty restaurant all by myself but by then it was 9pm and I wasn't sure I would get a table elsewhere so I decided to stay. The waitress and restaurant manager went off duty so it was just me and the waiter Nikola as the hotel was completely dead apart from the receptionist.

As I had overheard that some dishes weren't available, I decided to make things easy on the chef and told Nikola I would have the tasting menu.

I was expecting something worthy of a Michelin star but although the food was good it definitely wasn't special enough to deserve a star and as mentioned it wasn't even in the Michelin guide which is not a good sign. I just felt like the chef couldn't even be bothered to make an effort since he was cooking for just me.

Since I was there alone, I expected the supposedly friendly chef to come out and have a chat with me but he didn't. I asked the waiter if the chef was shy and he said he wasn't. I asked the waiter to give me a note of what I was eating and he came back to say the chef wanted to know why! Honestly, what a stupid question! It's quite normal to want to know what you're eating!

I got the handwritten menu and that would have been the opportunity for the chef to come out and have a chat but he still didn't come out then Nikola told me had left which I thought was downright rude.

Luckily Nikola was very friendly. I got him to turn off the horrible elevator music that was playing and asked him to choose some Croatian songs on my iPhone so I could discover some Croatian singers. I can recommend Gibonni and Oliver Dragojević.

The next day I went to Zagreb's only one star Michelin restaurant called Noel and since I was staying at the Esplanade I went to their restaurant Zinfandel's one evening too which is in the Michelin guide. I can highly recommend them as the staff were very attentive and friendly and didn't leave me sitting on my own all evening. Needless to say I will never be setting foot in Le Premier restaurant again.

The rooms are huge! You could have played a table tennis championship in ours, and I don’t think that it was atypical so hopefully you get the same experience.

Irrespective of this the facilities are suitably modern which we isn’t always to be taken for granted in an older hotel. Staff are really lovely and helpful The only downside is it’s not totally centrally located, but a 10-15 minute walk is a pretty small price to pay.

We are honeymooners who are staying at this hotel for a couple of days. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived late at 11:30 PM and the front desk receptionist was very helpful and very fast for the process of check in. He helped us to order food . As they knew that we are honeymooners they placed a cup of macaron and a congratulations letter for us at the room. We faced an issue with the AC and they figured it out by their side and fixed it in few mins. At the breakfast the staff were so friendly just trying to please us. The hotel is recommended for those who are seeking a quiet place with a good hospitality.

If you prefer a smaller, intimate property- this could be for you. In the centre of Zagreb, this property is small and the staff are very attentive. Rooms are nicely appointed with lovely large bathrooms and common spaces are luxurious. Easy to get around from this location. Staff answered any question I had on my first visit to the city.

It is a good hotel, spacious and comfortable rooms, shame we had no bathtub, it is appreciated in August after so much heat and tiredness. Simple but very good quality breakfast. Good service. Good location. For a 5* hotel for me some installation is missing, the gym has virtually nothing and the only machine was broken. There is no parking, several cars are parked at the entrance for 30€/day.

The staff are excellent. The rooms are spacious. Breakfast is good. The location is very convenient—within walking distance to so many places. I didn’t like that you couldn’t control the room temperature. They seriously need to fix the sounds coming out of the heating fans.
