Very tranquil and nice. Good pool, good breakfast included. Room was clean, AC worked well. The staff, Franklin and Ever were very nice and even provided a taxi service and advice. They also sell very cold beer cheap if you want to bring a couple up to your room. Wifi worked well. It's not luxury, so don't judge it by that. They do take credit cards for room payment. I thought I was going to have to pay cash. If you're looking for a calm place to stay, this would be it. And if you have kids who want to play in a pool, this would be very good and very safe. It is a bit remote, a taxi driver had a hard time finding it taking me back from downtown, so pay attention when you leave the property for the day so you can help, it's off the beaten path. You can walk to a nearby outdoor food truck area (opens at 4 or 5 pm) and a convenience store, but other than that, not so much. The airport taxi charged $25 to get there. If you want to be in the heart of Managua, this isn't it. If you want to get away to some place quiet and don't mind getting a ride into the city or to the airport or bus terminal, you have no worries. You have to be patient with the hot water in the shower, one day it never got hot. It wasn't freezing, but it was a quick shower, lol. The staff members were great, but you should probably know some Spanish. We kind of spoke "Spanglish," all of us doing our best.

We always stay at Managua Hills when coming or leaving. It is consistently clean and the staff is always very welcoming. This trip was a little different as we were 3 Canadian couples from Nicaragua, wanting a safe place to meet up and enjoy each others company during the pandemic. The owner, Young--went above and beyond to make us comfortable. He even set up a huge fan to keep us cool while we chatted for hours in the common areas. The pool is lovely and the included breakfast was once again perfect. I highly recommend the pancakes. The rooms were all spacious and clean which is all I really require from a hotel room. At first glance, I was unsure of the bed but it was so comfortable and everyone had a great sleep. The only issue was a slight hiccup with the hot water, but it was hot out anyways so no one really minded. That is not usually a problem so perhaps it was related to the storm.

This family-run B and B is one of the most charming places I have ever stayed. The property itself is an idyllic escape from Managua's craziness, and the owner and his staff have an incredible sense of hospitality. I would highly recommend staying here, if you want to escape the chain hotels and come in contact with real Nicaraguan hospitality.

Extremely solid room for $30. With an incredible breakfast also. If you find yourself staying in Managua this is a very solid option for sure. Rooms have air conditioning and tvs etc and solid bathrooms as well.

I recently stayed at Managua Hills for a weekend getaway. It was everything I was told it would be. Very clean, the staff were super courteous and the coffee was delicious. I didn’t take advantage of the breakfast, but it did smell delicious. The owner?/manager? Was super helpful and very knowledgeable. I am only giving 4 stars because the weekend was fairly overrun with a children’s birthday party and some of the kids were boisterous and obnoxious (typical kids birthday party lol) However by no means was this the fault of the hotel, or the staff.
Overall I would definitely stay there again without hesitation. I ended up checking out a day early, and the Manager was super accommodating with my request.

I arrived in Managua at 7:30 pm April 20, 2018 (I travel solo). It was the second night of student-led protests, which started as an outbreak of fury over unfair social security reforms in which the government was to apply a 5% tax to old-age and disability pensions and increase the contributions paid by both employees and employers, while their money is wasted on things like the artsy metal trees on medians in Managua. At the airport I had planned to have been met by a friend, but since roads all over Managua were closed due to the protests, he was stuck in traffic, I managed to share a ride in one of the few taxis that made it to the airport. Needless to say, the ride from the airport was stop and go, with protesters all along the roads, fires under each metal art tree called the "Árboles de la Vida" (on which much of the peoples money was wasted), and tire fires in the middle of each intersection. Mostly the protesters were peaceful and I felt a great solidarity, but it was INTENSE! (I hadn't heard this was happening when I left home). After an amazing taxi driver navigated through the heart of Managua trying to find roads that weren't blocked with fires & protesters, we finally pulled up to Managua Hills. I must admit I was nervous that I was being dropped off in the right place, but as soon as I opened the cab door, there was Young, the owner to meet me with a big smile. He told me I was in the right place, and got my bag for me. He immediately asked me if I was ok and if there was anything I would like, would I like a drink? -- it's like he read my mind!! He showed me my room so I could stow my bag & told me my drink would be waiting. When I went through to the gardens in this amazing Oasis it was a complete dichotomy from what I had just been through. I was offered a tasty whiskey and was honored to sit with some beautiful, amazing people Young, Jimmy, Young's sister (Wade?) & family friend (so sorry I forgot your names) we talked for hours about the situation outside, hearing news reports occasionally and making alternative plans in case things got worse. Although my introduction to Managua was intense, sitting in the gardens at Managua Hills was one of the nicest experiences I've had at a hotel (and I travel alot). They made me feel safe, welcome and comfortable and treated me like family. My room was spotless clean, comfortable and air conditioned. The bed was so comfy and I had a terrific sleep. As I slept, Young made arrangements for me to meet my friend (who had finally made it to the airport, but had to stay in a nearby hotel for the night). The next day there was a cab to take me back to the Airport to meet my friend at 7:30 am (early as it was quiet out, protests ended and safe to go). I completely forgot to give Young any money for the snacks and whiskey he generously poured for me the night before and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to my new friends but I hope they know how much I appreciated their company!!! Young, please tell your sister I will see her on Corn Island someday!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for your wonderful Oasis, your amazing hospitality and your beautiful hotel.
I recommend this hotel completely and absolutely!!! I also plan on returning some day when I can explore Managua properly and to properly thank Young in person.

A very nice small hotel for a stop-over or a few nights stay if you need to be n Managua. Good location if your activities are mainly south of Managua, it is only 4 blocks walk from the main highway to Masaya-Granada (km 8) where there are some shops. If you travel with your own vehicle, you can park inside. The rooms are clean, clean sheets/towels, strong hot water shower, very nice pool with crystal-clear water, self-service drinks at a cheap price compared other hotels, breakfast included which consists of gallo pinto, eggs, sausages/bacon, toast, pancakes, fruits, yogurt, juice and coffee. All in all a good place to stay and we will definitely come back here if we need to stay again in Managua. Recommend Ola Verde restaurant for lunch or dinner if you stay here, excellent and fresh food, biological and natural, only 3 blocks from Managua Hills. Gallerias is also within walking distance where you have even more food options (1km away).

This is our second stay here, but won't be our last. We live near El Transito, so we usually spend the night in Managua instead of making the 3 hour round trip.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Managua Hills is a charming B & B, we highly recommend it.

We found Managua Hills bnb online when looking for an unexpected stay in Managua. It checked off a few of the boxes for travelling with young kids, pool, breakfast included and two queen beds. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the location, super cute, felt very safe (we walked around at dark no problem), close to good restaurants and convenience stores. The staff was kind and helpful in organizing taxis to and from the airport. We’d definitely recommend to anyone stopping over in Managua!
