I found this hostel by chance when I couldn't find Pandora, the hostel I had already paid for. I went in Vanegas to ask for directions. What impressed me was the people who work there. Giovanni and Mariaelena, the owner, were so warm & helpful. They went out of their way to help me find my hostel. So when I...

Had a nice simple stay here at Casa Venagas... The place has really good security, free filtered water, decent rooms and good wifi... We stayed here one night before catching the Tica bus the next morning... There is a mall within about half a kilometre walk that has a supermarket, movie cinema (some in Spanish some in English), food court...

My friends and me were afraid to stay in this área because many people say it's unsafe. However my friend needed to take the tica bus at 3 am. We looked for one hostel and found this. So good!!! Clean Bathrooms, confortable beds, homely and fresh rooms. Before coming I talked to the recpcionist on the phone, she was so...

Pros: -1 Minute from Tica bus station -Cheap price for a basic private room Cons: -Boring area -They offer no activities or helpful with travel infos -It's simply a place to stay before taking a ride with bus, the hostel and the rooms itselves are just like a normal local house with no decoration & things going on

We found Managua quite boring capital city, so it was only a one-night-stop between flight to Corn island. Casa Vanegas is indeed clean and safe place. Though the area looks dodgy in the dark - better take taxi. We stayed in room No.1 for $18. Houselady allowed to leave half of our luggage for 6 days, as we had flight...

So this isn't really a hostel but if you have a 5am Tica bus like we did it is perfect. Ladies who run it are friendly, rooms start at $16 for two w a fan & tv - shared bathroom 2metres away. Is a $4 cab ride from UCA and a 30 second walk from Tica bus stop. We turned...

Close to the Tica bus, family run hostel with spotless tiny rooms. Very quite and safe place. The family is English speaking. Location is good for the transit but not for the walking around as this part of Managua is not nice. But I am afraid, Managua is not nice in general. The room was enough specious for two persons,...

Stayed here whilst transiting through Managua. A friendly family run hostel with decent on suite private rooms for a low cost. Helpful staff though little English is spoken by most. Staff arranged a 4am taxi for us and got up to open the main gate. Area is a little sketchy after dark but otherwise fine. Nice little place if you...

This is clealy a hostel that people use only for a night between Tica buses, and for that, its good, but I wouldnt like to staymuch longer there. Once at the Tica bus office, you just turn right and at the end of the block, about 100m is the hostel, there is no bell on the gate so you need...

I stayed in Casa Vanegas for two nights. The neighbourhood is probably one of the safest in the city, but don't expect much. There are some restaurants and comedores around, but many seem to be closed most of the time. And even if they are open, the fences and doors may still be closed, which is not very inviting. Probably...
