Carlos Callejas was born in Chinandega, the agricultural capital of Nicaragua. His family emigrated from Cuba in 1855. His father was a farmer (now he is exercising his lifelong passion as an artist) and his mother was an art broker. His house was a very social place growing up, with a wide variety of guests regularly. He decided to combine his passion for hospitality with his natural love of art in a boutique hotel that showcased local artists. 'There are a number of really talented artists here in Nicaragua. I love their work, so I support them and I proudly hang their work in the hotel. All of the pieces in the hotel are for sale, so we continuously have an evolving art program. Different pieces in some space can dramatically change the atmosphere of the room, so we get to appreciate the art everyday. After all, what good is a beautiful painting if it doesn't have a wall to showcase it and people to appreciate it. Every room is different. We feel like we can offer a more authentic and original experience this way. The courtyard is surrounded by plants from Chinandega, because this is what I grew up with. We also have an herb garden which we use in our kitchen. I want my guests to feel like they are staying in my home, and this is something I enjoy doing as well. I have been a hotelier for 18 years and have enjoyed every minute and hope to continue to do so for many years to come. This place is very near TICA bus station, almost like 7 minute walk. Moat attractions are in 25-35 minutes walking distance. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly. I had an early morning bus, and one of the person walked me, almost half the distance to TICA bus. They also managed to get me some breakfast at wee hours. Cathedral is around 20-30 minutes walk. Wifi is strong across the hotel. Lotsa artifacts, room of arts etc can be seen in the hotel

Beautiful hotel with a lot of art displays. Simple and clean room. Mostly importantly the amazing hotel staff. They are all so friendly and always with smile. They will go all the way to help you and make you feel like home. I have pre-booked a taxi for pick up at 4am however the driver didn’t show up. The guard walked with me all the way to the main road to get a taxi. Excellent customer service. Hearty breakfast and quick laundry turnover service. Highly recommended this place.

This is a very unique Boutique hotel that showcases local artists. With beautiful antique wood furnishings and abounded wall paintings throughout, I would just sit around enjoying the artwork. We had a Deluxe Triple room which was really comfortable, fresh and clean. I couldn’t be more impressed with Carlos and Ana Maria's attention to details and customer service. I was treated like family. I wasn’t feeling well but the staff waited on me hand and foot, attending to all my personal needs. Breakfast was a real treat. They also went out of their way to order me food for delivery and helped us arrange transportion when needed. I felt very safe staying here. Convenient, affordable and very comforting! I look forward to coming back on my next trip to Managua. Highly recommended.

My wife and me enjoyed our 2 weeks stay in this nice hotel which is nice and safely located. The rooms are large and very clean. The best of all is that everyone there from the owners to all the people that work there make you feel like you are at home. For every need you have they have a solution. This hotel is family owned and they put their hearts so you enjoy during your stay. God Bless the owners Carlos & Ana Maria.

This is a family owned Bed & Breakfast and we just can't say enough about our two-week stay and this beautiful place. The rooms were large and very clean. The hotel is filled with beautiful art collection and wood furnishings as well as pre-Colombian pieces and antiques. The customer service and all of their staff were excellent and they went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The owners, Ana Maria and Carlos were very pleasant and went out of their way to be of assistance. No tasks or wish was ever too big and they were always very accommodating and willing to assist. Everyone made us feel at home and safe. Ana Maria, Carlos, Fernanda y Max, muchísimas gracias por su fina atención y cuando regresemos a Nicaragua, este seguro que los buscaremos para quedarnos nuevamente con ustedes. Saludos cordiales, Auxiliadora y Henry Pronio
