This is a super busy hotel with so much going on but I enjoyed the atmosphere. Great vibe. Some may find it noisy. Clean. I ate at the restaurant one evening and food was good. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Rooms were fine. I came back to sleep and shower, I was out most of the time. Let's be honest, Managua is not a place your likely to stay long and this is fine for a few nights.

As a business traveler I value a large room with a comfortable desk and Internet access. This room has that plus a great window view, strong lighting and luxury bathroom. The largest parking space of any Managua hotel and very safe.

I certainly recommend it for any business traveler.

My flight was late into Managua, all hotel shuttles were gone, only the Holiday Inn shuttle was there. They helped me deal with lost luggage and provided me with emergency kit to survive while I got the luggage. Got complimentary drink on arrival, great room and breakfast and very friendly staff helping me solve the airline trouble.

These people are really friendly!!!!

We stay here whenever we travel to visit family in Nicaragua. The hotel service has been quite "rough" and inconsistant over the years. During our stay in August 2006, it seems that the staff has been receiving better training in the expetations of "international" guests. The hotel has also upgraded their restaurant. It is now in a very attractive space off the lobby instead of in a "cubby hole" that is difficult to find. The swimming pool is in need of superficial repairs and the deck area around the pool in in need of replacement. The tiles have become quite work and / or broken or justdownright dirty.

In addition, we had a large family party at the hotel during this stay. Although everything went well in the end, the event staff has not quite learned enough about their jobs so that they could be "trusted" to handle everything. Our involevement was quite extensive but still less stress than trying to hold the same type of party in another location.

we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. We had an issue with noise one night (a loud party in the garden), but the staff promptly moved us, so that it wasn't a problem at all. The restaurant staff were very attentive, and this was especially helpful given that we were traveling with our 6 month old daughter! The hotel itself is clean, and the pool was very nice. There is not a whole lot within walking distance, so you definitely need access to a car if you want to get around . It is a Holiday Inn, so it is comparable to other American-style hotels that we have stayed in--a good choice for people who don't want to be too adventuresome!

Booked a reservation online. My card was charged. Received a confirmation email.

When I arrived, I was told that my reservation was for the following day. I pulled out and showed my printed copy of their confirmation. After almost an hour of discussion with several different 'no people', I was told they would do me a favor and let me stay.

I booked a junior suite, but arrived to a single room. I asked about this, and they told me that was all that was available. Resigned to make due, I set up and tried to do some work. The internet was out, so there goes that idea.

I went downstairs and asked where I could go for internet, and was told there was no internet. I assured the desk person I was aware of the outage, as that was why I was asking for another location. I was directed to a nearby internet cafe.

Once I got my laptop set up at the internet cafe, I looked online to find the hotel had charged me a second time for my room, this time at a higher price. So I printed the bank statement and took it back to the hotel. After a lot of confusion, an apology was issued and I went to my room to take a nap. Only to find my key no longer worked.

Went downstairs to start all over about my reservation and how I had already paid for the room. Was assured a refund to my card would be issued.

I should mention that I speak fluent Spanish. So there wasn't any translation issues.

I checked out the next day after a long ordeal. I actually spent more time dealing with staff errors than I did working. And it seemed that as many solutions that were presented to them, they found a way to fight through it and make it difficult for me to simply park my things and get some work done.

After a couple of weeks, I've now opened a dispute to the charges that this hotel has failed to take off. Glad I kept my paperwork, as they are now claiming that I rented two rooms that night...

This hotel works hard to make very simple transactions difficult, then employs dishonesty to cover their mistakes.

No internet, the bathtub drain was broken, the double beds are just as big as the single, they didn't provide us with a complimentary breakfast, no free daily news paper was delivered to our room, the extras were at unreasonable prices, none of the 4 ice macines worked, the pool has sharp edges which cut my foot, and very little respect was shown. Basically this hotel did not live up in any way to the standards of The Holiday Inn.

this holiday inn will charge you for a $200 dollar deposit to your credit card without telling you. They will also charge you $12.00 for a traditional nicaraguan breakfeast (gallo pinto) this plate is free at many other hotels. they will also charge you $1.00 for each empty drink can that you drink by the pool. I will not be staying at a place that rips me off again.

The only reason I choose this hotel is because they offer a shuttle from the airport ensuring that we can get to the hotel safetly without worrying about getting kidnapped by an unauthorized taxi. We were 4 women standing alone in the airport at night surrounded only by men. I looked for our arranged shuttle but did not see it. I asked one of the shuttle men from another hotel and he said that it was coming. We waited 45 minutes. Finally a white car pulled up. I said no, we are wiating for the holiday inn shuttle, and he assured me this was it. Tired from waiting for so long, We got in nervously and I clutched by keys in my hand in case I had to do some self-defense. It was not the shuttle but a taxi friend of the airport guy. We got to the hotel safetly but I was so nervous the entire way. When we got to the front desk, I explained that we had waited for 45 minutes for the shuttle before having to get into a strange taxi. She mentioned the complaint to her coworker under her breathe and then continued to tell us how we could pay for the breakfast in advance to save $2. When she handed us our keys, I again repeated my complaint and that I was upset becuase I had not felt safe. At that time the bellman/shuttle driver came over and told her to tell us "Not my fault" and that we should have called the hotel. I told him that it had been scheduled and we were led to believe that a shuttle was coming at any time. I explained that we could on the shuttle as we are 4 women traveling alone in Nicaragua and had safety concerns. He started raising his voice and tell me that Nicaragua was safe and I was exaggerating. At this time, the front desk clerk told him to leave and told us that they would call a manager becuase there was none on duty at the time. The next morning, they called and said they would pay for our shuttle to the airport. WHen I said it was already being provided, they said that's all they could do. What about free breakfast or paying for the taxi we had taken there?! I was so disgusted that I will not be back.
In addition, the rooms are small. Out of the 4 rooms reserved, every single room had very stained and dirty carpets that led all of us to keep our shoes on until we had to step in bed. My friend had no towels in her room and mine were covered in holes.
I will not be returning to this hotel. When in Nicaragua stay at the Intercontinental.

Excellent pool, big and nice chairs and bar around the pool, good gym as well. However the hotel has not made up their minds about who their customer is. The rent out the common open hall to an aerobics class with people from outside that come at night between 7pm and 9pm and make a lot of noise, their music at least. Though hotel guests can joint for free (as if the noise is an added value if you want to have your dinner on the terrace of the hotel and for example have a business meeting) this is just window dressing. So who is your client: the hotel guest or outside people that hire your place for a couple of hours. For the rest a standard holiday inn experience, nothing to write home about. We booked with points and got some welcome coktail and late check out, which are nice. The location is somehow strange with no other services around like you have at InterContinentnal, CrownPlaze or Hex where you have a shopping mall around.
