Our most important desire is ensure that your stay in Nicaragua becomes the most entertaining and enjoyable as possible. In an effort to achieve this, we tried to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere within a typical Nicaraguan colonial style with original antiques. The rooms are set around a tropical garden refreshed by a beautiful fountain. The Hotel is ideally located in the most central and secure residential of Managua. We are a few meters from the highway to Masaya and Metrocentro Mall, which is the largest in the country. Since Hotel Los Robles a small boutique hotel, we are able to offer our guests a specialized qualified service developed through many years of experience with personal attention.

Stayed one night here . The staff were wonderful and although the noise was loud outside (not their control as it was Saturday night) we still had a comfortable and clean room.

Would recommend this if you want to get into the bars and clubs on the street but still nice for a calm and peaceful romantic break.

We virtually had the place to ourselves and the breakfast was fantastic !

Thanks to all

Stayed 4 nights. The hotel has the feel of old classy Managua. Beautiful gardens and comfortable rooms. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Very friendly staff. Has an upscale French restaurant as well as a casual poolside bar. Great breakfast as well.

I stayed here in March 2020 and the room was not very clean. The service was poor. The food was very good. It was super expensive for what it was. I was supposed to get a refund that I never received. Every time I call I get the run around. It's better to stay in a place where the people managing the hotel are honest. Do not stay here!!! It will save you frustration later on.

Before our trip to Nicaragua, back in the States, we knew no better and booked at Los Robles for a one night stay. The cost was $97 ($85+tax), which is a ridiculous amount of money for Nicaragua. Most of the other hotels -- those that are non commercial -- were in the $40 to $50 range, which is more appropriate for Managua presently. As tourism picks up, the price will become more appropriate.

Nevertheless, we had no regrets. The hotel is really a large house, rather than a hotel. It is impeccably groomed. Our room was very large, with AC and a fan and t.v. The bathroom was clean with worthwhile waterpressure. Breakfast was served in the morning in the common area. We didn't eat lunch or dinner there, but we saw that everyone else enjoyed the food.

Last, the people at Los Robles were very friendly. They helped us immeasurably -- with directions, getting a taxi, using internet, recommending places to eat, etc. Managua is a rough town. They made it better. To view our non-commercial web log of our trip, see nicaraguatravels.tripod.

We've been to Managua a number of times and often stayed at the Intercontinental which is a fabulous hotel. The service at the Interconti is spectacular, everything runs perfectly and it is up to world-class standards in every respect. But it could be a typical international-type hotel in any major city, and it's also higher priced. I might still use the Interconti for a quick one-day stay. This time, though, we were in Managua for four days and I wanted to experience Nicaraguan culture and Nicaraguan hospitality. Walking into Los Robles is like walking into someone's colonial mansion -- which it really is. It's small and homey, a courtyard with fountain, a walled area beyond with a pool. Dining (breakfasts and dinners) is in a covered area outdoors (no a/c there); wi-fi is in a common sitting area where there is also a complimentary happy hour each evening. There's also a small outdoors area with several pieces of exercise equipment. You won't hear much English spoken here, though some English-speaker is always around to help translate if you don't speak much Spanish. Rooms are quiet, relatively small and air-conditioned, nicely tiled; bathrooms are adequate. Dinners are informal and good, and the wait-staff and chef or cooks are very cooperative in altering the menu to suit your needs. Los Robles calls itself a small boutique hotel. That's a good description, but mostly what you will experience is the opportunity to immerse yourself in Nicaraguan culture and hospitality.

This was our first time staying at a boutique hotel in Managua. During our previous visits to Managua we had stayed at larger, chain hotels. This was a pleasant beginning to our badly needed vacation.

The hotel has a driver pick you up from the airport if you need transportation. He was waiting at the door of the airport with a sign so he was easy to spot. Our flight was late, but he waited for us. He had a vehicle with lots of room for luggage. The ride was quick (about 30 minutes from the airport). He delivered us to the gated hotel in a timely fashion.

The person at the front desk was pleasant, as was the guard at the gate, who helped unload and deliver our luggage to the front lobby. Check in was quick and we were guided to an open courtyard where there was a small restaurant where they served our complimentary breakfast, and they were also open for lunch and dinner. Our room opened to the courtyard and was neatly arranged. There was a small private patio off our guest room, too.

We stayed at Hotel Los Robles for 2 nights and then returned for the night before we flew back to the US. When we pulled up on the street, the guard recognized us and stopped traffic so our friend could park his car. He then grabbed our luggage and took it to our room without us evening realizing it as we checked in.

The breakfasts were very good...lots of fresh fruits and 2 different kinds of juice. You can order anything off the menu as well as anything from their buffet. The buffet had plenty for me and my husband ordered an omelet each morning. The only down side was that we had to miss breakfast the last morning because we had an early flight. It would have been nice to have a bag waiting with a roll and piece of fruit.

We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here before and after a trip to the San Juan River area. The hotel is small, with fewer than 14 rooms, all surrounding a central patio. Our room was very confortable and quiet. They have a Happy Hour for their guests with free wine, beer, mixed drinks etc. The in house restaruant was more than adequate with a varied menu. Food was well prepared. All of the staff were very pleasant. While we were their they were in the process of expanding their courtyard and were putting in a swimming pool and a covered patio area. It should be very nice when it is completed

Los Robles is a small hotel located in one of the best areas of Managua. My room was quiet and comfortable - a little dark, but this was actually a blessing in that sunny, steamy city. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is terrific, including two different types of fresh juice.

Managua is a very odd and confusing city, but Los Robles is perfectly located for eating out. There were a couple of nice cafes and restaurants within a 3-5 walk, and many others a bit farther away. It felt safe walking at night, though you really do have to watch for big holes in the sidewalk. Also nearby (3 minutes walk) is an English-language bookstore; another few minutes stroll down a couple of side streets is a terrific chocolate-maker called Momotombo. That one's a little hard to find, despite the big banner over the main street, so you might need to ask for directions.

How much is a taxi ride from the airport to the hotel?
Answer from
Chicago, Illinois
I had the hotel make the taxi booking, I think they charged me $15USD. I would not take a random taxi in Managua.

Can I also request a room that opens onto the courtyard?
Answer from cbchrc
Sarasota, Florida4,299 contributions114 helpful votes
The building layout is essentially in the shape of a large "U", with all rooms (except one) along the sides of the "U" and the building entrance, lobby/dining area at the bottom of the "U". I think they're doing some construction of that one room exception right now to enlarge it, so yes all rooms opens onto the courtyard. In the courtyard is a fountain with flowers/shrubs and beyond a nice large walled-in grassy area and pool, and a small place off to the side with several exercise machines. Though the rooms open to the courtyard, it really is just the door that opens; I don't recall seeing any windows facing the courtyard (though I could be wrong). Inside each room is a window or french door that opens onto a very small (and not very attractive) courtyard of it's own. I've stayed at Los Robles twice and will be going back again in a few months. For me, the rooms are comfortable and adequate if I want to write or read something, but they're not a place where I would sit and linger looking out at the courtyard. To enjoy the outdoors I'd sit in the area by the pool or in the lobby/dining area. Incidentally, wi-fi does not seem to work in the rooms, only in the lobby/dining area.

We had room 1 which had its own private patio area but was in the road. To get a room by the pool area I would suggest you email the hotel and put a request in. The staff spoke good English and we found them very helpful although we were only there for 1 night. Gill
