Great location and very good staff. We stayed in two different rooms which were very spacious but are in need of an refurbishment. The rooms come with a tea/coffee facilities but you have to ask for cups. Again no glasses in the bathrooms- why? We liked the breakfast and the terrace very much. Downside was the pool area: not inviting at all when a pool is not clean.

Hotel's Favourite
During these troubling times the stress level of staying in a hotel is very high. From checkin to checkout our family felt extremely safe. All employees were helpful and friendly. The rooms and public areas were extremely clean. All guest and employees wore face coverings properly and at all times. Definitely this establishment had a well thought out plan in place.

Excellent service … very well managed property. I felt very comfortable and my stay was very enjoyable. Concierge as well as front desk staff went above and beyond to help with whatever I needed…. Restaurant recommendations to tour setup to airport transportations.

My partner and I stayed a total of five nights at the Waldorf Astoria divided into a three night and a subsequent two night stay. Our first three nights were booked directly on the Hilton website with Diamond status benefits including room upgrade when available, continental breakfast, and extra points. The second two night stay was booked through American Express’s Fine Hotels and Resorts Program (as Platinum Card holders), with benefits including room upgrade, breakfast, and $100 per stay dining or spa credit. It’s important to note that Waldorf Astoria, along with Conrad Hotels, is at the top of the Hilton brands and should represent a five-star experience across the brand. What we liked: —Our first three nights we stayed in a deluxe (standard) two queen-bed room on the 15th floor. Our second two nights were in a deluxe king-bed room with a terrace on the 9th floor. The terrace came with a table and two lounge chairs, and the terrace surface consisted of some version of astroturf. Both rooms were comfortable, though the terrace room was a bit smaller, tighter, and with a different layout, probably due to the terrace consuming space that would otherwise be dedicated to the room. —The staff, especially at the front desk, was uniformly friendly and helpful, definitely 5-star service. —The gym was well equipped and the outdoor pool was clean and large enough to do laps. —Breakfast, while not lavish, certainly covered the bases. A small buffet offered various pastries, sliders, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, and a selection of hot foods including scrambled eggs, roasted vegetables, bacon, and occasionally french toast. A made-to-order omelette station rounded out the breakfast options. —Dinner and drinks in Peacock Alley—the lobby bar—was pleasant in spite of the space being rather cavernous in scale. We didn’t try Matiz for dinner, the same venue in which breakfast is offered. The $100 dining credit that came with our AMEX FH&R booking easily covered cocktails, a couple of dinner mains, and wine. —The hotel’s location is on a small side street one long block removed from Avenue Balboa, the primary waterfront boulevard, and very close to the Hilton Panama. A couple of restaurants and a “Foodie Market” are close by. What needs improvement: --While the Waldorf Astoria Panama is attractive in design and style, the actual hotel finishings are not 5-star quality. Materials other than the bed were more reminiscent of a Hampton Inn. Wear and tear was also noticeable, suggesting that a major refresh is in order. --Some of the equipment in the gym were not in good working order. Overall, the gym could use better lighting and air conditioning. --We didn't receive a room upgrade with either the direct booking through Hilton as Diamond members or through the AMEX FH&R program. We enjoyed our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Panama and would most likely return. Booking through the AMEX FH&R program turned out to be the better option.

I Stayed in an AirB&B, two hotels (WA,JW) & visited one other (JW Marriott). W may be flashy/modern, but the room & pool area came across as a brand just trying too hard to be cool, the JW has an amazing coastal view & pool, but gave the feel of a disgusting all-inclusive hotel with a bunch of "bizzaro" people walking round. which brings me to my one night at the WA. It was fantastic. the WA has the feel of a more business travel luxury business travel property with super comfortable plush rooms that "feel like luxury-home." the rooms are "a 10." Gym The Gym had just about every piece of equipment you need to get a quality road workout in. while I wish there were more towels & water in the gym area, understand some of this may be due to covid... Pools (WA,W,JW) The pool is not huge but big enough to relax with my 12YO & have a good time clowning around . even though it doesn't have the view of the JW, the pool-area gets a 8/9 due to it feeling a lot more comfortable & care-free than the JW& the W. while the W pool seemed cool, at 46 I feel like I was to old for some in the pool area, but too young for the "old heads" trying to relive their 20's but were akwardAF...WA, pool still a win among the properties I visited. Restaurant - The restaurant terrace offered a great breakfast variety of just about anything this yankess american could ask for for breakfast. the staff are overly attentive & ready to please/accommodate. For me , the JW & W are nice but less comfortable properties in many ways. the WA wont disappoint!!
