Hotel's Favourite
Situated almost underneath the Bridge of the Americas and right alongside where the Pacific meets the Panama Canal, we had jaw-dropping views from the balcony of tankers and container ships passing by. The MarineTraffic app told us all about them. Our room had a separate seating area with fridge and microwave but was badly in need of paint and minor repairs. The pool was large - it needed to be on Christmas Day when 40 children were playing in it though much quieter when families had gone home. The food was just about acceptable. Better to take a cheap taxi to the seafood restaurants on the causeway islands.

Beautiful hotel in nice but not too touristy location. Located about 10-12 mins from Casco Viejo (nightlife and museums).
Nice pool
Excellent drinks at the hotel bar with the bartender Ringberto
Housekeeping was a bit difficult to communicate with; I asked her to come back later, she didn’t return to clean my room one day
Within walking distance to Balboa Yacht Club (catamaran tour sets stills from here)
Very quiet
Oceanview room worth it and not expensive at all. I loved laying in bed and watching the ships passing in the canal
Amazing views of the canal
Felt safe as a solo traveler
Hotel sends taxi for airport pickup for a fee $36usd one way
25mins from PTY
Friendly staff

+1
What a great place! For the price, the service, staff and location are excellent! The breakfast (charge or not it's only $9) offers everything you could want and changes the menu each day keeping it fresh, like the JUICE and FRUIT served all morning! No doubt one of the best views of the canal. If you request a room with view of the canal, as we did early on, they had it ready and it was spectacular! You see these ships right in front of your balcony just tugging by. To know that the gateway (East or West) is right in front of you is surreal. We will surely come back. Also, the pool(S) are a great way to wind down in the later part of the evening. Just order Fridays to the POOL and chill. - JDR (Arlington, VA)

The staff at reception were helpful and patient (we needed help with our Uber app which they obliged), the room was clean, spacious and allowed us hours of ship-watching from the generous-sized balcony. We didn't use the pool, but there were a few people who seemed to like the pool and sauna as a meeting/unwinding place.
Breakfast was standard: eggs, bacon, pancakes, croissants with other baked goods, several cereals and juices.
We will return and recommend!

I stayed 5 nights in the hotel with my family. I expected more from the restaurant since they offered the same options in each breakfast.
On the other hand, the maintenance of the room must be improved; more specifically, the bathroom could use some general improvements.

Arrived in Panama on a business trip this week (2/22/20) in the middle of the Carnaval.
My favorite hotel in the Old Town (Casa Panama) was booked so decided to venture into Amador, which is just 10 minutes from the city center; and booked at the Radisson Panama Canal. The hotel is out of the way. Not close to restaurants or shops, that you can walk-to, but there is a Friday's Restaurant attached to the lobby (expensive).
The hotel premises are ok, view to the canal outstanding, room clean and the price excellent.
Service at front desk however, below standards...
Was overcharged (which was corrected promptly without an apology), was supposed to get free breakfast and ended-up paying $15.00 for it and room charges a total mess.
In summary, not the Radisson guest service we are accustomed to...

My elderly mother and I loved this place. Older and charming, isolated from the metropolis but easy access, spent most of our time sitting on the private balcony watching the ships go by up close in the canal ("Ocean view" room). Everything clean. Spacious room. Comfortable beds. Nice amenities. Lovely pool area that is great for kids. HIGHLY recommend, especially for the price.

We spent one night here before going on a partial transit tour of the canal. The room was right out of the 1960s and rather dark and dreary—then we realized the other side of the hotel had a view of the canal instead of the roof above the entrance. The woman at the front desk said she was sorry, but a view room cost an extra $27. Best $27 dollars we ever spent. Same room, totally different experience.
There is a TGIFridays in the hotel. I avoid American chain restaurants when traveling, as I prefer trying the local food, but the choice was chicken tenders or a burger in the lobby, or eating at Fridays. Turns out, the food at Fridays was delicious, and the outdoor table offered a sunset view over the canal.

Thank you for posting a review. We are glad that you appreciate the food. On the other hand, we are saddened to hear that your stay was less than satisfying due to the room and its view and the staff service at that time. Providing our guests with a comfortable and relaxing experience is of extreme importance to us and we are sorry if we may have missed the mark. Know that your voice has been heard and this will be forwarded to the hotel management for further improvements. We hope for another opportunity to make a more favorable impression in the future.

Beautiful setting with nice rooms and views. Staff helpful with good on premise restaurant s. Took Uber to surrounding areas for under 5$. Clean and modern lobby and guest areas. Loved watching the passing ships and close to all areas per transportation. Not a walking area

Yes they have a safe
Breakfast is included
No. I took a yellow taxi from Tocumen Airport for $35 by walking outside the airport to the island in the middle of the driveway. I walked past drivers wearing white polo shirts with white unpacked cars trying to split me. Have fun!
