Excellent hotel. Stayed twice for 2 nights each - each stay was in a different section of the hotel. Both rooms were spacious, quiet, of course clean with nice furnishings. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of items. Had dinner twice, good variety of options, fairly expensive. Location is in financial district which meant Uber needed ( very helpful hotel staff recommend rather than taxi) to visit old town.

Our room on the 9th floor in the executive tower is comfortable and devoid of street noise. However, we can hear the person in the room next to us talking on the phone for over an hour. The pool and deck are just okay. The staff is professional. Note that although the tower is over 20 stories, the hotel only goes up to the 11th floor. This hotel is in a good location, within walking distance of many restaurants and easy to take a taxi or uber.

I am fairly picky with details when I stay at a hotel. I started staying at the Bristol in Panama around 2003 when the hotel had 54 rooms, the service was great including a personalized butler, the food was excellent, your shoes could be shined overnight just by placing them outside your door, and the spa was fabulous. Now, the hotel is larger and the restaurant is in the tower, but the hotel maintains its super-high-quality overal,l and its devotion to each guest.

It's the details that count. In these days of Covid, the hotel's previous practice of keeping the hotel clean required little updating, but I am sure the management has done everything it can. Masks are everywhere now. The bathrooms are still wonderfully large, with great towels, rheostat-controlled lighting, huge bathtubs, and all the accouterments that you would want, in case you forgot something.

The beds are fabulous, close to those at The Langham (worldwide), the air conditioning is nearly silent, there is an overhead light in the clothes closet, the desk is comfortable, and there are sufficient electric outlets so you can charge all the electronics in your luggage.

On this last visit, we had the chance to stay at a new hotel recommended by the wedding party, but when in Panama, there is nothing better than the Bristol. And it was cheaper!!

Dear Robert W, Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment. It really fills us with pride when repeated guests, like yourself, take a moment out of their day to point out the reasons why Bristol is their home away from home. Knowing we have earned the spot of your favorite hotel in Panama City, that is indeed a great accomplishment for us. We can't wait to be able to welcome you back in a near future!

I’ve lived in Panama for three years so I am used to a much different pace of customer service than in the United States but this may be the worst I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. I am staying here for a mandatory quarantine as I travelled from Bogota, which means I don’t have a key to leave the room. I ran out of water last night and have been requesting water several times an hour since 6:00 am this morning……and it is now 10:00 and still no one has brought me a bottle of water. Someone did bring me a cup of coffee which tasted like it had bleach in it…. But they told me that someone else would be bringing me water. Because I am in quarantine I have had to order room service from this place several times. The food comes wrapped in plastic containers with plastic silverware and it is generally ice cold. I ordered a Cesar salad and it seemed like the lettuce had been soaked in mayonnaise for about three days. I can assure you I have eaten far better food in hospitals. I think this is the first time I have written a review in my life, but hopefully people will be able to choose a better place to stay (maybe the Westin across the bridge or American Trade hotel in Casco Viejo that have some pretext of customer service) based on my brief comments here. As for the room itself i have found it to be nice if not dated, although it still has that subtle musty smell (kind of like mold) that most hotels in Panama City have.

After being told that there was an airport shuttle we found that there wasn’t and it would cost $40 to travel to and from the airport. Then when the hotel called us a cab to get to the plane he was watching a Netflix movie involving torture and voyeurism.
We were only overnighting the first night so being assigned to an inside room with a view of a wall wasn’t a big deal. Beautiful room although it was looking a little ragged around the edges. We checked in at 10 pm and out at 5 am so we didn’t do too much looking around. On the return we had a little more time so the worn carpets, old soap on the bathtub and, again, a view of a wall became more apparent. The restaurant served me a steak that was inedible without an electric saw and after I sent it back they still charged me full price. This is the first time that I have ever sent a steak back that I can remember. I’m guessing that the hotel was less than 50% occupied and to be put in a second floor room with no view surprised me. This will be my last experience with a Registry hotel. Rooms were beautiful once though.

Quality is superb! Although you might think is expensive, other hotels charge the same for less quality and average services. We stayed there during Carnival and it was very quiet which allowed us to relax and rest well. We also ate at Salsipuedes restaurant and got a massage at their spa

This was my first time visiting Panama and staying at one of the Bristol hotels.

Prior to even arriving in Panama I called to inquire about early check in (we were on an overnight flight) and would arrive in Panama around 9:30 a.m. and was worried about having to wait around until check in time. Chantal was a lifesaver and granted us early check in. Upon arriving to the hotel we quickly realized the attention to detail in everything! Check in was smooth and we were given the key to our room. We quickly noticed it was a king size bed and asked if it would be possible to have a two bed room instead so we each had our own space (I traveled with my mom). Within 2 minutes, we were given another room.

We stayed at Bristol for 5 nights and our time there was amazing. The staff at Bristol made my mom and I feel like we were home. We got to engage in such great conversations with the gentlemen that were at the front opening the door, the waiters at the restaurant as well as Poli (bartender).

As we got closer to check out once again, Chantal was a life saver in making our appointment for covid tests to come back to the U.S. (they come to your room so there’s no need for you to rush).

On travel day we decided to get pampered at the Spa (we took advantage of one of the April specials). The treatment did not disappoint. Prices at the spa are reasonable and once you’re done you get to enjoy the relaxation room (with amazing views)

If you’re thinking about staying here, do it! You’ll thank yourself later.

This is a business hotel with very nice rooms good restaurant reasonable internet reasonable friendly staff. BUT this is NOT a tourist hotel the area around the hotel probably the worse area to try to walk of any of the numerous Latin American cities I have visited. The hotel also tries to gouge guests with the highest mini bar prices I have seen (go to drug store next door) plus everything else is high. Hotel also does not provide any free bottle water PLUS don’t expect to get ice. I asked for it 5 times got it once. Oh if you pre purchased breakfast make sure you show it on your reservation as staff will try to charge you again. This is very much a business hotel looking to maximize the $$ each guest spends. Please if you are a Tourist find another hotel

Nevertheless, I welcome and appreciate your positive feedback and have taken notes of your constructive input, as well as, of those areas of opportunity you have kindly highlighted. Thank you for sharing this input that definetely help us grow in our way to service and operationally excellence. Please be advice that our minibar prices are in line with other properties in the city and every room has 2 bottles of complimentary water available everyday and refreshed by housekeeping. I had the opportunity to stay at Bristol Panama this past weekend and, boy, did I had a great time. From a smooth check in with Lineth and Edgar to experiencing a luscious facial with Alexandra at The Spa and dining over at SalSiPuedes with great service from Venancio, María, Monica and Sandra…. It was a great experience!
The room I stayed at, 1122 (TIP: ask for rooms ending in 09, 11, 18 or 22) was very well decorated, sober and elegant, and very clean (I’m a freak when it comes to that). The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the bedding was very soft. They have shower/tub combos in the bathroom, which is huge btw. I felt very pampered. Thank you to Melissa who took care of housekeeping in my room.
The menu at SalSiPuedes and room service has something for everyone, my favorites were the grilled octopus (ordered it twice), the dragon prawns and the sancocho.
Had the opportunity to run away from meetings and visit The Spa, Xochilt welcomed and assisted me with making some appointments, Sonia provided a luxurious experience with a mani & pedi service and was later able to chill in the steam room and have some tea in the relaxation room (25th floor, 180 view of Panama City, very zen) and then the following day a customized facial with Alexandra. Special shout-out to Nitzia and Erika in room service who recommended the soup and the dessert. And also to Nohely at the front desk, who was very attentive and followed up with me during the length of my visit. Bristol is definitely a must when visiting Panama City!

Warm welcome from the door staff and reception. Staff in general very pleasant and helpful. Had an Exec room in the main tower, good size and modern. A few scrapes and scuffs which could be sorted easily and cheaply and make a big difference, e.g. a gouge out of the full width of the bathroom door which let the overall appearance of the bathroom down.

Breakfast was varied and good quality, made to order eggs and omelettes. Gym ok. Pool ok but too cold to really use especially for kids.

Location good, 5-10 mins from restaurants. 10 mins from the front which is a nice walk down towards old town and the fish market. Ate at Concolon (very good) and La Papa (nice but too pricey for what you got).

Used Ambermoon for airport transfers and a 4hr private city tour. Highly recommended - $30 each way for transfers and $120 for the city tour. City tour worth doing - Miraflores locks exceptional (get there early, pre 9am if you can), old town lovely to walk around and the various bridges and causeways worth a drive to/across as well.

Enjoyed Panama City and the hotel is a great choice.
