Hotel's Favourite
Everyone that works at this particular hotel was kind, and very professional. We had zero complaints in all 6 days. Breakfast was punctual and menu variety was totally acceptable. Especially Virgilio and Kabayai were the sweetest to us. But, in general, just zero complaints in all 6 days is quite hard to accomplish!!!
Keep up the good work,

The front desk was not too friendly when I started asking questions about the price and amenities; it was not until I booked the room that their attitude became more welcoming. The hallways smelled a little like mold/humid. In all fairness, I was traveling during COVID-19 days, and perhaps the cleaning staff is limited, and also, maybe due to limited number of guests, the building didn't merit constant cleaning everywhere. I add that the cleaning crew was extremely helpful and friendly though. The curtains couldn't be fully closed, and I had no privacy from the building across. The hotel is in a central location.

We stayed at the Hampton by Hilton in Panama City for three nights prior to boarding our cruise ship in Colon. This is a clean and comfortable hotel in a great location! The hotel is located in between two subway stations that are each about a ten minute walk, and a modern fully stocked Rey supermarket is also only a ten minute walk. There are also plenty of good restaurant options nearby within walking distance, and we also felt safe in going to them even after dark.
The hotel staff at the front door (such as Jesus) and at the front desk (such as Kelvin) were all very welcoming and friendly, and they also offered suggestions as to the different nearby dining options. Though we did speak some very basic Spanish, it was very helpful that the hotel staff spoke very good English for dealing with the important things. Our room on the tenth floor was clean and comfortable. We also appreciated the layer of security in that the elevators required a room key. The daily breakfast was adequate and had enough choices and variety to satisfy us.
While one may use a taxi or Uber to get to the further locations, we opted to use the Metro, and we actually used it to get from Tocumen Airport to the hotel. To get to the old town of Casco Viejo, we walked to the Metro station, took a short ride to the Cinco de Mayo stop, then felt safe traversing Avenida Central until we reached the old town where we explored on our own.
In short, this is a nice hotel in a nice location that is a good value, and if we are fortunate to visit Panama CIty again, we will definitely stay here!

It took 47 minutes and cost 21.52$ with Uber to get to this hotel from PTY airport, leaving the airport shortly before 16:00 on a Thursday. The hotel is in a central area (though not a particularly nice part of it) and there was a lot of traffic to contend with.
For being a diamond member of Hhonors, I got one warm 600cc bottle of water (I am not sure everyone doesn't). My initial room was at one of the far ends of the 4th floor, but after quickly realizing that the internet connection was poor at best, at times even nonexistent, I brought this problem to staff's attention and was given a similar room on the 9th floor. Internet there worked much better, though nowhere did it seem fast, which I was told is a characteristic of the local infrastructure.
Both rooms were, like the hotel overall, a bit shabby and outdated. The halls reeked of something I could not identify (perhaps an overly pungent room scent, perhaps some sort of antiseptic). In the second room, the one I spent the night in, (probably in the first as well, but I did not notice), the air conditioner aimed directly at the bed. There was a very limited supply (shampoo, soap and body lotion) of relatively cheap, individually packaged toiletries.
Breakfast, which is free for all guests, featured four hot dishes: potatoes (not bad), "Spanish tortilla" (looked nothing at all like the Spanish tortillas they eat in Spain, and not at all tempting), chili (no rice or anything else obvious to put it on) and French toast (looked fine). There were two fruits: bananas and pineapple chunks. There were no salad-type items, indeed there was literally nothing else except some oatmeal, white sandwich bread and, of course, drinks.
The hotel features a limited fitness room with a few pieces of cardio equipment, one machine for pulldowns and some dumbbells. There is a pool, but it appeared to be roped off. All of it is only open until 21:00, according to the sign.
I appreciated staff's desire to ensure that my internet connection was adequate. Other than that, I am at a loss to indentify any redeeming characteristics of this hotel, and two stars are sufficient.

The first night at this hotel my sister and saw a large roach crawling up the wall. The hotel manager granted us a change of room/upgrade and two days free lunch or dinner. When we were sent to a suite the air did not work and the pull out bed was not cleaned of old sheets... we had to be moved again. When we redeemed our free dinner we were told we had to select hamburger, soup or pizza. The food was not good and at the end of our visit they would not produce a receipt with the one day credit... No store, no ATM - although the lobby is updated the accommodations are not. We were very disappointed. With this one “you get what you pay for”

A lot of hotels just aren't ready to open. They failed to use the closure during the pandemic to ready and clean rooms thoroughly. So much is being blamed on Covid 19, when it is really inadequate maintenance and management.
This hotel just smelled - musty, dank, old, mildewy. Only one of the two elevators worked. Exited the elevator to a stained floor and an overwhelming odor. Entered the room, that had the same foul odor. The room had the guaranteed clean sticker on the door. Why was there a oat from the breakfast bar of the previous guest on the floor. Changed rooms. Same foul odor, albeit less intense. Gave me a terrible headache.
The rate was to include breakfast. Breakfast was an apple, granola bar, Sunny Delight, and bottled water. You could get coffee to go if desired. While waiting for my breakfast bag, I saw roach number one. Waiting to check out, and there was roach number one's other family member crawling down the wall behind the front desk.
Every time I went to the front desk, there were always other guests present. This indicates too many problems. I asked to change hotels, but there were still many hotels that had not yet reopened. Luckily while walking to breakfast we found another hotel the very next morning and checked out. Low lights will not hide the dirty carpets and horrible smell.

The room itself was very nice. I stayed with a friend. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The location is superb with short walking distance to many things including the gorgeous Iglesia del Carmen, the Metro stop of the same name, and short cab/Uber ride $4 to Metropolitan Park, Casco Viejo and other areas. Don’t miss nearby El Trapiche for authentic Panamanian food and Animal
Brew with local craft beer, and Siete Mare, and many other choices including Caribbean, Vietnamese, etc. What really made the stay magnificent was Virgilio who helped us with restaurant ideas and other things. One thing he recommended was Azahar terrace seating on the 7th floor overlooking the water. It was in my top 10 dining experiences ever. I used points and got 5 nights for the price of 4, but even the stated took rates were very reasonable. The hotel also has a lovely pool on the roof with very nice views and comfortable seating and a nice gym. This is truly a great value. Make sure to ask whether Virgilio works there if he is not the one checking you in.

I recently travelled to Panama with some friends and we stayed at the Hampton by Hilton. The hotel is in the middle of the financial district and has many shops and restaurants within a 500m radius from the hotel. The Metro station is only a few minutes walk from the hotel as well. The lobby and restaurant areas are clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and resolved any issues we reported quickly. Check-in and checkout were very easy. The free breakfast was eggs with some other protein each day and something local made of corn. There was also cereal, juice and a selection of teas. The only fruit we saw for breakfast during our one-week stay was bananas. If you like a variety fruit for breakfast, you should probably visit the 24 hour convenience store within the 500 mile radius around the hotel to pick up fruit as needed. There was a mini fridge in the room so we could store our food during our stay. The hotel also has a microwave which they will let you use if you ask or heat up your food for you.
The major issue with the hotel has to do with how the property is maintained. There was mold in the shower and cracking plaster on the walls in our room. Our door also had no security latch behind it, but this was fixed a few hours after we reported it. The carpet in the hallway had a smell as if it was getting wet and they were trying to cover the wet carpet smell with some kind of air freshener. Altogether, this made us hold our breath each time we got off the elevator until we reached our room. The pool and gym are only opened from 9am but some of the gym equipment was “out of order” and the pool needed cleaning as well.
The room itself was quite large and smelled clean but we found hair in the bed and bathroom when we arrived. We also had to keep asking for towels and toilet paper during our stay. It looks like they pick up the towels in the morning and bring them back in the evening after washing. The hotel doesn’t issue wash cloths. The view from the room was nice though.
If I visit Panama City again I would probably try a different hotel or an AirBnB. Hampton by Hilton just needs a little renovation to become a top choice hotel in Panama City.

The hotel was great. Its location was central so getting around is simple and easy. Use Uber for your transport needs as taxis tend to overcharge especially if they know you are a tourist. Buffet breakfast was very limited but tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and all amenities working well.

This hotel was one of the worst my family and I have visited. The first morning we stayed the toilet overflowed and flooded our entire room because the plumbing at this hotel is a joke. We were forced to move to another floor and the plumbing there was the same. When we complained we were told that we were at fault because we were expected to know that you shouldn’t flush toilet paper in Panama City?! We had visited a number of different hotels and Air B&Bs and all of them were strong enough to handle toilet paper. Plus some other places that we visited provided signs ( which this hotel didn’t) stating what not to flush. In addition to this the walls were stained and metal fixtures in the bathrooms were rusty. The pool is nothing like in their website- looked green and moldy!! Overall this hotel was below standard that I expected from the Hilton Brand!!

It is a small Hoel so no formal Concierge Activities would be by an outside travel firm
Hi, they don't have onsite laundry, but, you can find a laundry services for very reasonable price near from the hotel. Just ask gently at the locals.
The safety box, you need to put a 4 digits code to set it.
I hope this help.
