The staff, especially Luis, were very cheerily helpful, at this gorgeous hotel with dark wood, light tile and marble . Arriving early on Christmas day, we requested a 7am check-in for a $25 fee. Included breakfast menu choices: regular eggs w/ sides; avo toast; corn tortilla with chicken; or hojaldras fried bread topped with tasty beef stew. Our room was very clean & quiet, good a/c and pretty tile, four-poster King bed. Location was great, near Presidential palace in old Casco Viego neighborhood with plenty of streets and sights to roam, and restaurants to try.

An excellent 14 room boutique hotel in a terrific location in the Old Town of Panama City (Casco Viejo), a block by the water, close to various restaurants and shopping.

Detailed rooms are very clean and extremely well appointed, with quality bathroom supplies, bath gowns and slippers. Only comment would be that there is only one small water bottle and only one coffee capsule, a bit stingy.

The rooms are quiet, but the rooms on the first floor may have a bit of noise from the restaurant below, but that would only be around supper time and also only for a short time.

Pleasant roof top bar with a great view of the city skyline. A small but clean Jacuzzi is on the rooftop, but no one was really using it. Good selection of 5 or so items for breakfast.

Villa Palma has an extremely attentive and flexible staff, really working hard to make the stay pleasant. This a great place to stay for a couple of days.

Excellent location in Casco Viejo near the waterfront and close to everything. Beautiful old world charm, with marble dark woods and tile and exquisitely furnished. Luis was very professional and charming. He was very helpful during our stay. He went out of his way to help with getting us a cab to the mall and airport. When we were having problems contacting our driver, Luis called on his personal phone to make sure all was in order. My wife loved the special martini that Luis made to order We titled it "Luis' Ladies choice martini". The rest of the staff was quite good as well. The hotel did have some issues. Although the maintenance staff was working diligently on fixing these problems. The elevator did not work during our stay and our room was on the very top floor and had to be reached by a ship style curving stairway. Would not recommend this room for those not able to climb many stairs. Bathroom was disappointing as we were expecting a large antique style soaking tub, our bad !! when were reviewed the photos we saw that only one particular room had that feature. Shower pressure was not strong and was difficult to adjust hot/cold water. Housekeeper’s work was not really that good. One day they forgot to leave coffee for us and on our final day the chef did not show up but we were given granola and yogurt for breakfast. All in all though we would book this hotel again in a future trip to Panama City.

The staff was professional and helpful. We stayed in one room 3 nights and another room 1 night (my booking snafu, not the hotel). Both our rooms were clean, furnished nicely and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is on a one way road that backs up often so there is a lot of horn blowing from frustrated drivers. Across the street is construction so three mornings we were woke up at 7:15 am to either a jackhammer or hammering noise (I usually sleep like the dead and my Husband wears earplugs). Both rooms were excessively noisy because the hotel is adjacent to a disco. The music thumped, bumped and grew louder from about 11 pm when we returned to our room until about 3 am on Friday and Saturday. If I had read any review that mentioned construction or loud nightly noises I would have not stayed here. The breakfast wait was 30+ minutes with limited choices. The only decent meal was scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. All other choices were limited in their taste or preparation. For example I was served 2 eggs over easy where the protein was crispy brown and the yolks flaking. We were served delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. If you are a night owl, don't care about breakfast and can sleep through very loud noise events, this is your place. We returned to our room each day for a nap because we had about 4 hours of sleep each night and this wasn't ideal because of the street and construction noise.

We stayed at Villa Palma Boutique hotel for 5 nights. The reason for the higher rating is the staff. They’re amazing! They try their very best to assist wherever they can.
The hotel decor is an eclectic mix of “kitch” meets French boudoir which at first is quite a sight but it became endearing the longer we stayed.
Upon arrival in our room, which boasted a 4 poster bed, a low ceiling and a door with no balcony ( but a railing) opening to the inner open air courtyard, the musty mildew smell was quite overwhelming. We asked if we could move rooms so they offered us a room up a tiny staircase which had no opening and an even lower ceiling and was almost as musty. So we stayed put and they kindly put a humidifier in the room for a few hours to try and help.
The aircon cut in and out throughout the night but kept the heat out.
Upon check out we were surprised to find they had charged us extra for certain breakfasts that were apparently not included in the rate - so best check this before you order. Also laundry is extraordinarily expensive as they outsource it.
All in all a happy stay and I can’t stress how fabulous the staff are. A real credit to this hotel.

The more I travel, the more I appreciate how the staff at a hotel can give you a feeling that a hotel is great or not. The Villa Palma is beautiful, great attention to details but what did it for us was how warm and welcoming the staff was. Joel and Ricky were super nice.
We were at first in a room that had no windows to the street but french doors opening to a little courtyard, very pretty room and very quiet. We ended up being upgraded to facilitate us staying an extra night, the second room was amazing with two floors and a balcony with a view of the bay but very noisy late at night and early in the morning. So depending if you are a light sleeper or not, you will need to pay attention to this.

Villa Palma exceeded our expectations. The location was an easy taxi ride from the airport, and from there, we were treated like friends. Our room was far more spacious than two people needed, so we enjoyed the good life for the time we were there! The rooftop jacuzzi and views made the entire experience even more amazing.
Despite what appeared to be a small (or reduced?) staff, our needs were always met, our room was cleaned everyday, and we enjoyed piña coladas in the evening at the bar with our new friend, Teo.
There was construction going on all around the hotel, which raised some concerns when we checked in, but we were pleased to see/hear that everything got quiet in the evenings, we were never disturbed by noise. In fact, due to the location (and the curfew, Panama City had a 12:00-4:00am curfew when we were there!), we experienced some wonderfully quiet nights.
The hotel is easy and safe walking distance to more cafes and restaurants than you could ever eat and there is shopping and more views all around. We enjoyed our stay so much, we were sad to leave, but hopeful to return :)

This is the best hotel experience I've had in a very long time. First, the hotel was very communicative when I booked the reservation regarding my requests. The only flights from my city to Panama City were red eyes, landing early morning, my first request was for early check-in. My second was a room with a shower. Both requests were honored and it was amazing to be able to check in late morning, shower, and start the day refreshed. The room was lovely. Living room and half bath downstairs, and a full bath upstairs.

During the trip, everyone was attentive and kind. They recommended restaurants and call/negotiated taxis upon request.

The most amazing service, though, came after my stay. I left my brand new iPhone 13 in an Uber. Not only were they able to accept the phone from the Uber driver weeks after I departed, they promptly sent the phone to me in the US via DHL. It arrived in perfect condition with all my vacation photos. This was the most outstanding service and reflects exactly how my entire five day stay was.

We recently visited Panamá on a family vacation and spent some time in Panamá City, 3 days were at Villa Palma where we had a great experience. The location is fantastic, located in a beautiful area of Casco Viejo with views of the ocean and city. The surrounding area has many good shops and restaurants to walk to, great architecture and felt very safe walking around, even at night.
Villa Palma is a beautiful hotel, again following the classic architecture style in the surrounding area. Luis and Ramon were both so friendly and helpful and made our stay very comfortable. One room had an issue with wifi connection, and Luis immediately gave my family members a different room with no issue. Our room was absolutely beautiful and unique with a spiral staircase and indoor balcony. Very clean rooms with good AC and amenities. The elevator was not working during our stay so we had to use the stairs, however that wasn't an issue as most of our rooms were only 1 floor up. I would be cautious when booking to mention any accessibility issues as some of the rooms do have stairs, but others do not and could be used by people with mobility issues. We didn't try the food at the restaurant, but the menu was very reasonably priced and looked good. There was also a nice rooftop area with a great view.
Another thing I want to mention about their fantastic service- we had a last minute issue where we were unable to take all our luggage on the ferry for a one night stay on an island and we weren't sure what to do- they were kind enough to store our extra luggage at their front desk overnight until we could return the next day even after we already checked out, which really helped us a lot! Luis also helped us nagivate some last minute issues with another hotel.
Overall would highly recommend Villa Palma and will definitely be staying there again next time I visit Panamá City!

Unfortunately, this hotel with its lovely facade is not as well run as it should be. I want to preface by saying that the reception, server and housekeeping were very pleasant and nice. However, management needs to step up. Their personnel needs to be trained in the hotel business. Our room only had 1 bottle of water although they say free bottled water. We had to ask reception each time for water. Ameneries were never replenished and when we arrived, the box containing them was half empty. Breakfast was a comedy of errors. We never got what we ordered and instead of waiting for the correct foods. We just let it go. The food was tasty though. The roof top bar that they advertise was rather sad. A guy sits in a closet like room which holds bottles of liquor, wine etc. However he was so busy with his cell phone, he never came to take our order and some tables were not wiped down. These are issues that can be corrected. The bar music in Friday and Saturdays however cannot be changed. We had an interior courtside room and the air conditioner vent emitted some white noise so it helped. Location is good. Book knowing that there are issues.
