A lovely lil spot in the heart of Casco viejo. We walked to everything and the hotel was in a perfect location. It was very clean, beds comfy and nicely decorated but most of all super affordable. We were very happy there. Had hot water, good AC and the rooftop bar was nice esp later on after we returned from dinner. I think it would be important for guests to know the rooftop pool is part of the bar. I found it a bit pricey at the restaurant and appreciated the 20% discount. I would def stay there again. If you want a comfy adorable, clean place in the historic area this is for you. We were on the bottom floor so the noise never bothered us. Slept very well.
The hotel is very nice, good location however be aware it's very loud due to the rooftop bar this is right upstairs the hotel. Also the hotel has windows that are facing a corridor so you need to keep the light on, the window facing the street doesn't give much light either. The beds are comfortable although if neighbors are loud or are watching the TV everything is heard through the wall. The staff is very nice, internet works well. The pool is misleading, it's very small and doesn't belong to the hotel so you can use it only until 4pm but it's tiny so you can't swim in it.
We changed our plans when we had an overnight layover from our flight from Bocas to Panama City and we are so glad we did! Walking distance to Casco Viejo area. We took the afternoon to walk the area and slip into some color bars and restaurants. Small room, but was perfect for an overnight stay. We enjoyed the balcony overlooking the street with a glass of wine. Clean / neat and friendly staff. The rooftop bar was a highlight as well. Will stay again. Good value!
On arriving there was no one in reception, not a sign on the door with a phone nr, nor were the phone numbers on Google or Booking.com answered. There was no one, pretty discomforting with all your luggage in an empty reception. Thought about booking somewhere else but had already paid. Went to the rooftop bar, but that’s a different company, they couldn’t help me but kindly let me use their bathroom… the one in reception was locked. After about 30 minutes someone showed up and gave me my room key. On arriving in the room at the front of the hotel right above the noisy street, it turned out the cold water was not running, only very hot. So no working shower, no toilet flush. Couldn’t wait to get out of this place. It looks really cute on the pictures and location is good but it is poorly managed. Ps the pool in the picture is very misleading, it doesn’t belong to the hotel but to the rooftop bar which is a separate company. It’s a really cool place and you do get 20% discount on your drinks there as a hotel guest which is nice.…
The location is superb, but unfortunately that’ll be my only compliment. No privacy. There’s a rooftop bar which is pretty cool but if you’re staying at the hotel you will not be able sleep much due to the amount of noise. Also the food was pretty mediocre at the restaurant upstairs. The party went on till 1 am and the clean up till 2 which you’ll be hearing all the tables being moved around. The loud music. Woke up restless and grumpy. So if sleep is important then I would not recommend this hotel at all.
The noise from the club above is unbearable. I wore earplugs to bed and I was still able to hear the music. The night we arrived a guest complained. The second night I complained. There was no change in the volume either night. Nothing was done. The rooms are quirky and cute however the stone wall behind my bed was deteriorating severely and I would be woken up by dirt dropping on my head and I constantly had to brush off the sheets before I went to sleep. When I arrived there was a dark hair and stains on the sheets. I have light color hair. I asked the reception desk for clean sheets and was told they didn’t have any at the moment but would change them in the morning. After we return later that afternoon I checked and the same stains were in the same spot on the sheets. Also, we ordered a cab through the hotel and they charged us twice the amount of an Uber. All in all one of the worst hotels I stayed at and I stayed in hostels in 3rd world countries.…
This is a beautiful, quaint hotel with great ambiance. I was pleasantly surprised as the hotel actually exceeded the pictures! It’s masterfully decorated in the decor of the old town where it is situated. And it is quite affordable! I would highly recommend!! I do have a couple critiques: Lighting in the room is a problem. There are no reading lights just the one overhead light. There needs to be alternative lights. They do not offer breakfast as is advertised. They stated they offer a discount at local restaurant but I didn’t even receive that when I went. Nonetheless this is an affordable and unique place to stay.
I was recently a guest of Hotel Casa Panama and due to a sudden change in plans I needed to leave the hotel early. I had 2 additional day left on my reservation and thought it would be difficult to receive a refund. Not the case at all and my refund was processed in a timely and efficient manner. The location is excellent at the entrance to Casco Viejo and all areas of interest or within walking distance. There is a fantastic rooftop restaurant / bar that serves excellent food and drink.
We got from bocas del toro. And we had went directly to panama casa hotel. And decoration and all the details are amazing. The staff are really good. Around 7pm we went for drinks and dinner on the villa. We went to the hotel and had a drink on the roof top. We were pretty tired so we left to the room. When we opened the door the sound of the music ( was so loud the it look likes we had the sound inside the room) so as you can imagine we didn’t sleep. My only advise is schedule on the bar subtil midnight. Just a a some place but it loses everything when you can’t sleep
A fantastically located hotel in the old part of town. Perfect for using as a base to get around the local historic area. Rooms are all brushed concrete / industrial looking but work well. Decent, quick working air con and good water pressure. They love their low wattage bulbs which means it’s pretty dark but you get used to it. Close to plenty of bars, eateries and a nice 3km jogging loop on a by-pass (sounds weird, actually quite nice) The bar upstairs was a little jarring and seemed a little out of place, more like something you’d find in Shoreditch, London but you don’t have to go (unless that’s your thing). The music can be quite loud but nothing that would stop you from getting to sleep, though earplugs are always there if necessary. I used this place as a base on my way into and out of Panana so stayed in two separate rooms. Ground floor room was bigger, had a fridge, and no noise from the bar, so if you want a little quiet then I’d recommend that. Super friendly staff. Definitely recommended.…
