State House Inn is not a fancy hotel. It's a place to sleep. It was clean and comfortable. Our room overlooked the main street and was a bit noisy late night. Not a deal breaker, though. The two best things are the location and the manager...Amber. The State House Inn is walking distance to so much of Annapolis and the...

The location is great, close to historic old Annapolis, across from State House. Parking was several blocks away. Room was very outdated and small, and smelled of pesticides. My wife was so uncomfortable, we left and stayed in a modern hotel in Annapolis. Front desk is not manned past 5PM or on weekends, so that made coordination very difficult and...

Stayed one night between Christmas and New Year's. Great location in historic section, and one can walk to everything. Furnishings are old and dated. Usually that does not bother us. However carpets and some furnishings were dirty, or perhaps just stained. Thankfully, bed linens were crisp and clean, as was the bathroom area.. the individual room heater was incessantly noisy...

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the State House Inn! We are so glad you enjoyed our fabulous location right in the heart of Downtown Annapolis. I'm sorry you felt that the furnishings are so worn. We just recently had all the carpets removed and redone this past fall so are all brand new. I...

NYE experience. The major problem was a room lock that had us locked INTO the room. Fortunately, they did come and release us, but really, this should not have happened. Hotel is a textbook of deferred maintenance, and just because one picked up furniture that looks 'old' does not mean it has any intrinsic or even aesthetic value. The Inn...

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. First and foremost you are right, the issue with the door never should have happened. I do have to inform you that I have checked the lock out and I really am not sure what happened as that has never happened before, and has not happened again since. As...

We scored a mid-week internet deal just before Christmas, and SHI was perfect for a short stay at reduced rates. The historic district is stunning at Christmas - day or night! The Inn's convenient location, nestled between the capitol and Main Street, is topped only by Amber, the Inn's gracious, accommodating manager. We scored a mid-week internet deal just before...

Thank you for taking the time to review our property! I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at such a beautiful time of year right in the heart of Downtown Annapolis! A side note, we DO have one room on the first floor of the Inn. Its one of our three Jacuzzi suites, the Lord Calvert...

My husband and I booked a two night stay at the Inn for December 12 and 13, 2016. We arrived late but I had called and they left our check-in information outside. Good so far. I should have realized there was a problem when the lock spun and spun with the key in it. There was no lock, just an...

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I am very sorry that your stay was not a pleasant one. As the State House Inn is over 200 years old, you are correct, there is no elevator. This was originally a home and therefore an elevator was never put in. I am very sorry that you were not...

I went to Annapolis for the first time and stayed at The State House Inn. It was a perfect location behind the State House, right in the middle if all the action in the historic district. Everything was in walking distance. I like to travel by myself, and being a female walking around alone, I felt perfectly safe. Just don't...

Perfectly located for Annapolis. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the decor was traditional without feeling old in a run down sort of way. 2 Night stay was very reasonably priced. A key to the front door and I could come and go as I chose without having to bother anyone and without the inn having to have...

Stayed in the Queen Mary Suite. While the room was a little dated, it should be since it was built in 1700's. Staff was great and courteous. Very roomy and in an excellent location. Takes a little effort to get into the tub but it's large and comfortable. Room has nice antique furniture. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely old inn. Walk out front and the state house is right there. Behind the inn is the main street with great places to eat, shopping and a pleasant stroll of around 20 blocks to the harbor. A big, comfortable, old fashioned room. Breakfast wasn't worth eating, though there are great breakfast locations elsewhere in the area.

Thank Barbara M
