The hotel is located within walking distance to shopping and resturants. The staff is courteous. The breakfast is pretty good. Pancake machine was broken so that option was out. Hotel could use updating. While overall I would consider it to be pretty clean, I think the place could use some deep cleaning. Carpeting in hallways needed some vacuuming. Bottom shelf in bathroom had a thin coat of dust. A little extra effort in the cleaning may have bumped up my review. Comfort of room was average.

Overall, clean and spacious. It even has complimentary use of their washer and dryer. The fitness room was compact yet well maintained. If I may point out, rit is located right next to a cemetery. It didn’t bother me too much but my hubby didn’t quite take to it. Again, really well maintained facility as long as you don’t mind the graveyard sight!

This is a really nice hotel. I was particular impressed by Mike at the front desk. He is one of the hardest working people I’ve encountered, and he manages to have a great attitude and spirit at the same time. I had a long trip en route to the hotel and was exhausted when I arrived. Mike really cheered me up and set the foundation for an excellent stay. Thanks for a great experience!

Came here last year. Service was great, breakfast was 5 stars...it was amazing. So memorable in fact that I booked them again for 2 weeks. As I would find out, the joke was on me. I go to check in. Your room isn’t ready? Fine I’ll come back later. I finally check in, order food from door dash, and as usual they forget to give me most of what I need. No problem, the front desk here never lets me down. So I head downstairs. No sauce? Fine No salt packets? Fine No straws? Fine (They said “it’s covid so no more reusable items”...ok fine, but what about disposable single use items like everything I just listed above? Makes no sense) At least while I’m down here I’ll get the extra pillows I needed since nobody’s been answering the front desk phone ALL evening. Hold on...No pillows EITHER? ... but ok fine... At least I’ll have an amazing breakfast in the morning. Even if I have to eat it at work since dining in is restricted, I’ll have an amazing breakfast every day for the next 2 weeks. Right? Wrong. Dead wrong. They’ve switched to a continental breakfast. Which is literally my biggest pet peeve and the epitome of laziness. I came to this hotel specifically for their breakfast so I could start my days off right, not luke warm orange juice and microwave rubber egg sandwiches. That’s not what I chose this place for. Now look, covid restrictions, fine, I get it. But I’ve been to numerous hotels still serving breakfast, especially since restaurants have reopened along with dining restrictions being lifted. At the height of covid I may be able to let this slide, but at this point, it’s sheer laziness and they’re just using covid as an excuse...it’s May 2021 and no other hotels are still behaving like this. I used to love this hotel, but things have changed quickly here, and not for the better. Room service isn’t even daily anymore (which has nothing to do with covid...if anything wouldn’t you WANT the rooms to be clean everyday to minimize the spread of infectious germs?) Last year the room we had reeked of marijuana and mold and the carpet was wet...they upgraded us free of charge to a 2nd floor suite! The staff and amazing breakfast quickly made up for the rocky start. They did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. But now it seems like if you ask for anything they don’t feel like doing they just shrug their shoulders and say “lol...covid” It’s a shame because this honestly used to actually be a place I enjoyed staying, now it feels like I’m at the butt end of some sick joke. After 1 night here my job made me change hotels at the last minute. I called immediately to cancel the hotel so I wouldn’t be charged for the entire day. They said I had just missed late checkout and refused to cancel, charging me for the full remaining 23 hours of a hotel I hadn’t been at all morning or afternoon, or was even staying at for the rest of the night. Scamming me out of $79 was more important to them then losing a lifelong holiday inn customer. But with how the hotel is managed and the homeless people that hang out in front of the doors, making me never stay at a holiday inn again was probably the best thing to come out of this. And it’s funny how they couldn’t check me out today because it was past checkout time...yet yesterday I couldn’t check IN at the same time because my room “wasn’t ready”. All a money grab for a $79 room that nobody else was lined up to book anyway (hotel had plenty of room, me not checking out precisely on time didn’t prevent them from acquiring new customers in any way). I spent thousands at this location in the 2020 alone. But if this is how they want to treat their customers, that ends now. All for a measly $79. The only staff member who was any help at all was David, but unfortunately the hotel as a whole is a huge black eye on all Holiday Inns. By far my worst experience, and definitely my last.

We were visiting the Annapolis area to look at potential homes in the area for a move to Annapolis. We frequently stay at a Holiday Inn Express around the country, they are always clean and you know what you are going to get. Not this case with this location. We were given a room on the first floor. The carpets were stained, the bathroom was dirty and had black mold, the container holding the toiletries attached to the shower wall was rusty and falling off the wall, marks on the walls in the bedroom. The entire place was dirty. We went to the desk to ask for another room. The attendant was helpful and understanding. He placed us in another room, which was much better. The elevators were even dirty. Around 3am, the smoke detectors went off and we all had to evacuate the building. Walking down the stairs, there were dirty old AC units on the floor by the stairs. For a Holiday Inn Express, especially one in Annapolis, we were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness.
