Loved the place. Staff are very kind and helpful. The bathrooms and dorms are clean and tidy and the beds very comfortable. Considering the fact that most hostels that have breakfast included serve a mediocre breakfast, the one at "El Hostal" was really really good! Guests can use a kitchen. Location is also great. Just about three blocks away from...

Stayed in a private room (shared bathroom) with my boyfriend for 4 nights. Well located, clean, comfortable, good WiFi and yummy breakfast (the rancheros dish is so good)! Only negative (and not a direct reflection on El Hostal) was a shuttle to Panajachel that we booked through the hostel - it was over crowded without proper seats and extremely uncomfortable...

El Hostal was an excellent place to stay in Antigua. I roomed in the 7 bed dorm (mixed) in April. No AC, but it really wasn’t too warm or stuffy, especially leaving the windows open. There were large lockers under the bed, lockable if you brought your own lock. It’s not a party hostel and the beds were comfortable so...

El Hostal is a very nice place to stay. The common areas are really nice, and the free breakfast is fantastic. The staff will help with anything. The only thing less good is the 10 bed dorm, which can be noisy because of the bar in front.

Stayed here with two friends for three nights and loved it so much we booked on for one more night at the end of our trip before flying out of Guatemala City. The rooms and bathrooms are kept very clean. The common area (court yard with a fountain, lounge chairs, couch, hammocks and tables) is the perfect place to socialize,...

We loved our stay at el Hostal! We had a private room with a shared bath. They had hot water and a super delicious breakfast! They let us store our bags and backpacks after we checked out for the day. They have a delicious breakfast and we ordered a freshly pressed juice on the side that was to die for!...

El Hostal was excellent. I traveled in a group of 9, and we all turned in at around 10pm. I slept through the night even though the windows in our room (which faced the main street) were thin. Those who worked at the Hostel were extremelt friendly and engaging. The food was good, the vibe is excellent, especially the courtyard...

Had an awesome time at El hostel. I stayed on two occasions around Semana Santa. Both times staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were informative and helpful with bookings and town info. The owners even generously threw a small party for their 8 year anniversary and offered free food and a free margarita or two. The breakfast is delicious...

Great hostel. Exceptionally clean, and great service by all staff members . Be warned though that it can be loud on the street at night, so if you're a light sleeper, get a room away from the front. Best wifi I've encountered in Guatemala thus far!

Although this hostel ranked well with other travelers I found it to be noisy and more expensive than other much quieter hostels in the area. Cafe No Se is just across the street and this bar gets very noisy until very late.
