Taanah Guest House was my favorite place to stay during the 10-day trip in Guatemala. It is a beautifully decorated house with the most hospitable owners. I had a spacious room upstairs with a private bath. WiFi worked great and the water in the shower was hot. Drinking water was complimentary. The rooftop terrace has breathtaking views. The breakfast in... More

Taanah is located near the entrance to Antigua from Guatemala City. I've visited Antigua several times and THIS is by far the best place for anyone to stay. It's near walking distance of most of the historic sites to visit within the city. Taanah is accommodating, reasonable and full of Guatemalan decor and antiques; then you climb to the rooftop... Really warm welcome from Evelyn and Fernando to their beautiful and rustic-styled house. The breakfasts are fantastic and they go out of their way to make everything comfortable and help out in any way they can. There's a great roof terrace with views across the city. It's just behind La Merced and five blocks from the main square and easy... More

I stayed with Evelyn and Fernando in January 2015. They were a great source of information and always glad to make restaurant reservations, order a taxi or shuttle or help in any way. The B and B was comfortable, the rooms completely adequate and the breakfast was tasty and filling. They both speak English very well.

Our arriving in Guatemala happened not to be the way we imagined in a not so confidence inspiring car that took us from the airport to Antigua through the night and pouring rain (with a very friendly driver, though)...But it all made our arriving at the Taanah Guest House an even greater Wow-experience! The beautiful 2 floor house (soon to... More
