Our stay here was not the worst I've ever had but that was mainly due to the big group of people I was hanging out with. The accommodation itself leaves a lot to be desired. The room was clean enough but on the first morning I was covered in what I though were mosquito bites. On closer inspection it turns...

Stayed for a night from Wednesday to Thursday. Normally normalt the busiest days of the week. Was lucky there was a big family of 20 with little kids. The staff (or who is wondering around) was ok. Dorm was terrible, mattresses worst ever and dorm is next to public area. They have a policy after 10pm should be quiet nut...

They packed our stuff and took our luggage outside of the room because they weren't sure we're staying for another night. Treated us with zero sensitivity and care. Negative vibes and unwelcoming behave. It was night and we were stuck with no accommodation. Not recommended at all!

Reasonably priced and good location. But there were lice or bed bugs, i was covered in bites! It was a dirty room. I showed staff them crawling around my bed the next day as no one available that night. They cleaned my clothes and case which was great, but when leaving they charged me for that night even though i...

My son and I stayed at the Banana Azul for two nights May 4-5 and May 5-6, 2015. We were passing through Antigua at the end of our trip to Guatemala. Posted quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 9 a.m., which turned out to be a joke. Both nights were terrible; on the first night, the night manager and his...

The employees seem more interested in partying with other guests than providing good services. That's fine, but they play their music way too loud and no one seems to enforce quiet hours. I had to get up at 3:30 am to ask other guests to turn off their music. Unacceptable. Would not recommend unless you want to be disturbed at...

It was okay. We didn't have any issues aside from it being a little tricky getting hot water in the shower. It certainly isn't the best maintained or cleaned, but it was available and as I said, it did the trick. Two features would be that it was reasonably priced, and an easy walk from our shuttle drop off point.

We stayed in the Hostel for two nights and I was happy to leave. The floors in the batherooms are always wet, in some the flushing is not working or you can't close the door. The Staff is friendly but they always want more Money from you than it cost (65 instead of 50 for a broken dormbed). They have...

After trawling the many party hostels and expensive hotels in town it was such a pleasure to find Banana Azul. The place is clean, has a decent kitchen, is cheap, central enough and has wonderful people. Jose, who had just started work there, was super friendly and helped us out a lot. The place was quiet but sociable - have...
