My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in February and had a wonderful time. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely gorgeous. You really feel like you're in paradise. Our room was quite spacious and had a small living room area with a burning fireplace and a nice outdoor patio. The bathroom was also rather large and had...

The Casa Santo Domingo is a legendary place to stay. It has to do with the light, and the flower petals in the stone pools lining the paths between the rooms in the huge ruins...redone as a lovely hotel. Fireplaces to warm one at night with crackling of pine smelling wood and top notch service. The breakfast buffet is to...

Over all I think this hotel is very good but there is room for improvements. The room was too dark and it had been so mutch nicer with a wood floor instead of the carpet. The breakfast at weekend was very good but on the week day it was at best ordinary.

Casa Santo Domingo is one of the most beautiful hotels I have been, not in terms of luxury though nothing is missing to make your stay more than confortable, but in terms of ambience, enchantment and cozyness. Being an old monastery built hundreds of years by the Spaniards in their pursue for colonization America and placed in the midst of...

The location and the hotel could not be any prettier or romantic, but the staff and service leaves you wanting to go somewhere else. Our room was a SMOKING room and of course it smelled like it. Never was there a mention for a smoking room they just assumed we wanted one. It was an ordeal to change the room...

We are sorry to learn that even though we provided several options to make your stay comfortable, you did not enjoy our accommodations. We hope to have the opportunity of serving you in a near future.

This is certainly a very beautiful hotel, an architectural masterpiece. But the service is poor and they charge you for lots of annoying little things. The bar serves the smallest drinks imaginable. The restaurant is poor (see separate review). But the spa is lovely and my therapist very good. Go see the museums, one of which combines Mayan antiquities with...

This hotel is absolutely spectacular. Rooms are clean and spacious. Try to stay away from the rooms right next to the calle (despite the wall separating them from the street). There are multiple museums within the hotel and tours regularly come through, and for good reason. The food is very good. service at the front desk and restaurant is average.Spoil...

This review is only about the restaurant as the ruins, museum and grounds were lovely. The patio restaurant looked inviting so we decided to have lunch there. Then the bad part started. We placed our order of an entree to share, a duck breast main each, a creme brûlée dessert and wine. We waited patiently . When the entree arrived, it...

This place is amazing. Pictures absolutely do not do this property justice. With chocalate factory, pool and spa, museum, and beautiful gardens, this place is amazing. There are weddings everyday, but they dont hinder the experience whatsoever. The halways are lines with beautiful concrete troughs filled with elegant red flowers floating in them. There are 1000's of candles lit throughout...

It is transporting yourself to another era. It is just magical. Loved the hotel and the food is even better. Top notch chef. I believe the best in Guatemala. I highly recommend it for a romantic stay or a destination celebration. Don't miss the spa!
