Mate and Toma were most pleasant to work with and they even helped us find parking and getting our bags to and from our beautiful suite at Vila Nepos. We had originally booked the Augusti Suite, but when the person staying in that suite asked to extend their stay, Mate offered us the Piaca Suite, an upgrade free of charge. It was located on the ‘People’s Square’ and beautifully appointed with tasteful furnishings and paintings plus a kitchenette and laundry. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the unit, comfortable beds, wifi and the close proximity to shops and restaurants. A buffet breakfast at a nearby restaurant was included in the price of the room. In addition, Toma assisted us with reservations at two lovely restaurants, Portofino and Restaurant Leonis. We cannot say enough good things about our experience at Vila Nepos. Great boutique hotel within the walls of the palace…but worlds away from the summer crowds and more like having your own fully equipped apartment. Staff was friendly and attentive. Space was very large and impeccablely decorated, with everything exactly as promised! Beds were comfortable and AC was cold during the heat of the summer. Kitchens were fully stocked, with generous sizes refrigerators. Washer/dryer combo within apartment to do laundry. The staff were able to acccommodate the use of one of our rooms on early arrival the first day, as we arrived before checkin time…so our group had a place to freshen up before heading out. We booked the Centurian suite (1BR) and the Legatus suite (2BR).
Breakfast each morning was included at a nearby konoba, and we tried both - Korta which was sit-down ala carte dining and Central which was buffet style. Mate (pronounced “mott-ay”) arranged dinner for us at Leonis, which was an amazing konoba just a few steps away. He also shopped for water for us and had it waiting for us on our fridge before one of our excursions. They personally arranged transport to and from the airport/ferry terminals and were there every step of the way to make sure transport went smoothly. It felt like we had friends taking care of us during our visit and made our stay feel very comfortable. Overall a great way way to wrap up our Croatian vacation. We would definitely return!

This apartment was nothing less than awesome. It was beautiful with modern amenities, but truly maintains the feel of being a part of the old city. Multiple windows opened onto various areas of the pedestrian old city. There was a kitchen which included a dishwasher, and there was even a washer/dryer combination. From our understanding, dryers are pretty rare in Croatia. The manager (owner?) Mate (pronounced Mottay) was very friendly and helpful. He met us at the drop off point just outside of the pedestrian zone and helped us take our bags on the one minute walk to get to the apartment. He was available to text at any time and provided us helpful tips. It was extremely spacious for a family of four with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large combined kitchen/living room area with a table and chairs, a large couch and two chairs. They provided large umbrellas for us to use, which came in handy as it rained lightly one day during our stay. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Vila Nepos in Split is an absolutely amazing Apt/ hotel in a great location. It comes with a sitting room, a kitchenette & even a washing machine with tastefully done interiors. I have stayed in different hotels around the world but nothing like this. In the centre of the old town, 5 minutes from the Riva Promenade with all the amenities one could ask for, it was a home away from home. We could even take a siesta when we were tired. Mate, the manager did an excellent job making us feel at home & was constantly in touch. Very helpful too. It was like staying in an Aristocratic house. 5 Stars to Vila Nepos.

We stayed for 1 week in the Vila Nepos. The apartment style room (kitchenette, laundry, separate bedroom) was beautiful with very nice flooring, furniture, art, etc. Everything we needed was there and well done. The property manager (Mate) was attentive and very helpful with any and all questions and requests. Location is so convenient to Old Town Split (you are in it!) Great place to stay!

We stayed 3 nights in the Legatus suite and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Split. Tons of room and the place just oozed with history. My wife loved having breakfast at Luxor every morning, which was included in the room cost. Beds were comfortable and we really enjoyed having the extra room to spread out and enjoy our little corner of Diocletian's palace.

This hotel could not be more perfectly located - right in the heart of Diocletian’s palace. You can easily walk to restaurants, ancient sites, and the waterfront. It was also the nicest place we stayed during our trip to the area. We had a nice 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a living room, kitchen, and even a washing machine. There was an air conditioning unit in every room, safes in the bedrooms, as well as a TV with satellite, Netflix, Youtube, etc. Considering its location and how nice and spacious our apartment was, it really wasn’t expensive. If I were to visit Split again I’d book the same apartment.
One note - Our apartment was up a flight of stairs, so this isn’t the best place for someone with mobility issues, and is not accessible at all for wheelchair users. They do have various apartments though and may offer other more accessible ones if needed.

Villa Nepos is perfectly located right inside the Palace. It's a few steps to just about anything - great restaurants, stores, farmer's market, and just a few minutes' walk to get to the waterfront. The room wasn't a room at all, but a spacious apartment suite with living room / kitchen area and separate bedroom and modern bathroom. It even had a washer dryer. The apartment was spotless. Breakfast is included at a local restaurant right on the square -- a perfect way to start the day.

Villa Nepos wowed us as soon as we walked through the door. It has been lovingly restored and is full of character, beautiful decor all with a luxurious feel and immaculately clean. The location is Perfect, right in the heart of Diocletian’s Palace.
Toma the General Manager at Villa Nepos was there to greet us and whisked our luggage away to our room before a smooth and swift check in. Toma was always on hand to help and nothing was too much trouble for him, he was an outstanding host and a credit to Villa Nepos.
We had a one bedroomed apartment consisting of a large open lounge/diner, a very grand bedroom with the most comfortable queen sized bed and a large ensuite with Mahooosive shower!
We had a choice of two restaurants for breakfast, both just a two minute walk from the Villa. We stuck to the Central Square Hotel as this was a buffet style with a huge selection of foods which set us up nicely for the day ahead exploring Split.
I could go on and on about how amazing this place is but you really need to go, stay and experience it for yourselves, you will not be disappointed.
We are already looking to return here and wouldn't look anywhere else.

You can’t go wrong with this location! The hosts were excellent. It was really Nice to have a kitchenette, washer/dryer in the unit and plenty of space. Breakfast was amazing. Mate and Toma couldn’t have been more helpful directing us to the best dining locations in the area. We were so pleased to be in the middle of Diocletian’s palace and to walk everywhere from the hotel. We will stay there again next time!
