Perfect location, and stunning interior! Old Town is very close by, and also all the restaurants you could ever want for.

The apartment has everything you need, from a washing machine to pots and kettles for making food. The AC was a life saver for us Finns, for the temperatures were closer to 40 mid day... Also the plants outside were beautiful!

Huge thank you for Michelle for making our stay perfect :)

A beautiful apartment. Equipped with care and good taste. Clean and tidy. Excellent location - a small and calm street, in vicinity of old town, ferry port and bus station (including airport shuttle). The friendly owner always at service.

Emperor suite was a fabulous location to stay in Split. The host, Michelle was fantastic and could not be more helpful. On arrival she met us at a local drop-off point, walked us to the accommodation and gave us a helpful tour of the highlights of split on a map which you left with us. She also helpfully let us leave our luggage on departure, rather than have to drag it around the city all day. The location itself is perfect, literally just a minute or two from the harbour and the Old town of split, it was also in easy walking distance to the beach. The apartment has everything you need, including nice little extras including coffee, shower gel et cetera. I would totally recommend staying here. The little courtyard outside was also a nice added extra.

Fist of all, I have to say that Michelle was fantastic. We stayed in the apartment that is shown as the main photo of his property - the two room/two bathroom ground-level apartment with mainly red and black decorations. By reading the reviews of this property, it is clear that the other apartments are very different. This one is outside of the old palace, but very close and an easy walk. Michelle met us at a parking lot near the apartment and walked us there - we would never have found it on our own. It is up a narrow alley and through a locked gate. It is an apartment, not a hotel, so there is no reception and no housekeeping. We were there for a three night stay. Michelle oriented us to the apartment, gave us a town map, and pointed out some tips for nearby restaurants and shops. She was warm and welcoming. And then she left us with the keys, and we were on our own. The apartment is quite large, with a big sitting room that also includes a small dining table. We did not use the room for dining, but found the table great as a place to organize our days, write in journals, etc. A small kitchen was equipped with coffee, tea, and jam, and had a small fridge. There was a grocery store just around the corner, along with two bakeries, so getting food for breakfasts was easy. One bathroom had the toilet and sink, a shower, and a washing machine. The other had a shower and a small sauna - we did not use the sauna, but it could be a great feature if you are so inclined. The bedroom was pretty small but fine. My biggest criticism of the apartment is that due to the way it is situated, on the ground floor and as part of a line of attached buildings, there is only one window in the entire place that opens to the outside - and that is in the bedroom, where a window opens on to the small alleyway. We did open it to get some fresh air, but given that it opens on to the ground level of the alley, there is no breeze to help the fresh air get in, and it does not penetrate any further than the bedroom. Being used to fresh air, plenty of light, and views from hotel windows, this came to feel rather oppressive over the few days we were there. Still, we did not spend that much time in the room as we were there to sightsee, so it was not a big deal. It seems that there are many apartments of this type in Split, much more common than typical hotels. The price is reasonable, and the location is quite convenient.

Like others, we were a little confused by these apartments, due to the map pin and main picture, and the fact that it's not always clear which apartment the reviews refer to... so here is the definitive explanation....
There are three apartments, two in one area and another (pic is of a yellow bed) in the old city centre.
We chose the king bed apartment which is next to the studio apartment and they are NOT in the old city centre and is NOT the yellow bed pic. However, they are very convenient to the ferry, train and bus station, and it's not far to walk to reach the old centre (5 mins walk). They are also very quiet and indeed have a gate and a little courtyard.
But we were a little disappointed because, apart from the bathroom, the king-bed apartment is decorated in a very traditional old-fashioned way, with heavy dark furniture. While the apartment is large, the bedroom is very small - we had to move the bed away from the wall so my husband could get out which meant we couldn't open the door very far! There were no working bedside lights and you had to walk through an internal lobby and across the sitting room to reach the loo. Overall we would say the king-bed apartment would be good value if you needed the kitchen and the sitting+dining area, but if you're just staying one of two nights then you probably just want an ensuite bedroom and you will get a much more attractive apartment at a better price in the old city centre if you look elsewhere.
The yellow bed in the pic is in the apartment in the old city centre, which does appear to be modernised, so that may be better value. We didn't go there so we don't know.
Hope that helps!

A real highlight for our second visit to Split was staying for 4 nights in the wonderfully decorated, cosy and spotlessly clean Emperor's Suites apartment inside the old Palace walls, which we booked online months ahead so we wouldn't miss out.

Michelle was extremely prompt with emails and confirmations which made the whole pre-holiday experience an easy and seamless process.

The apartment location is quite outstanding. Everything is virtually outside your door - The Palace ruins which are very impressive and are within a 30 metre walk from your gated-door, quality cafes, shopping, the Green Market, The Riva and a 5 minute walk to the port and bus stations - this apartment location has it all. Inside, the fully-equipped apartment has everything you could possibly require, including a quality kitchen, stylish bedroom and lounge area, reverse cycle aircon, a washing machine, free wifi, gourmet coffee and tea sachets - a lot of thought and attention to detail has been given to ensure that every traveller's needs are more than met.

Michelle is the most perfect host, super friendly, extremely helpful and has some great advice for restaurants and places to visit. The meet and greet at the bus station takes the hassle out of trying to find it on your own - thanks!!

We LOVED our stay, from the first moment we climbed the stairs, opened the door and realised that we were going to stay in the apartment that Michelle and her husband Loren had so proudly renovated and decorated with a lot of passion and love. Thanks Michelle & Loren, you have enhanced our wonderful memories of Split and we cannot wait to return.

Highly recommend this wonderful apartment, perfect location and Croatian hospitality at it's finest.

We had a fantastic 3 day stay here from the moment we arrived and were met by Michelle who organised the drop off point with our cab driver.
She walked us to the apartment which was located in a small alley within the palace walls and gave us lots of useful recommendations. Everywhere was in walking distance which was a trade off for the lack of outside space.

It was beautifully decorated and furnished. Everything we needed had been thought of from clothes pegs, to butter, to toiletries and even a small washing machine.

The only potential concerns would be the size of the bathroom and steep entry stairs if you are larger sized or have mobility problems.

We stayed in the studio apartment of Emperor's Suite. Very close to harbour and bus station and Diocletians palace. Michelle met us and walked us to the apartment giving us a quick orientation of the place. Also pointed out booths from where we could book trip to Krka. Prompt reply to mails. Very clean and cosy apartment The tiny.kitchenette did not have a fry pan. We only made tea. Washing machine and drying rack quite useful. No steps to climb either. Recommended.

I am pleased with my stay at Emperor's Suites. My one bedroom was on the third floor just around the corner from the Bell Tower. Michelle is a great host. She really didnt need to do much for me. She met me at the bus station (3 min walk) and gave me the run down on the apartment and the location. I stayed for 4 nights and didnt need to get in touch with Michelle for anything during that time.

My apartment was in the Walls on a small street. Overall it was pretty quiet which could be a problem in other places since there is alot of noise. I definitely recommend stayting in the Walls. It is really fun. The location was right by the market and many grocery stores and bakeries. There is a 24 hour bakery 5 minutes away in case you needed it!

Another tip is when you arrive by air - go outside and there are Croatia Air buses lined up. They fill up and go to the train station. I cost under $10 and saves a ton of money from taking the taxi. You are dropped off at the main bus station right by the ferries so you could continue onto a ferry if you wanted.

I stayed in Split 3 days and 4 nights. I think this was a bit too long. I would say 2 days is what you need to see Split. I supplemented my time going on a day trip to Krka National Park and took the bus to Trogir (worth the trip).

Overall, Emperor's Suites is a nice place that is VERY clean, safe, and in a good location.

Thank you!

We ended up arriving a little late to Split but Michelle was there to meet us at the office and off we went to our apartment for the next 2 days. The location of our apartment was unbelievable! We were less than 30 seconds away from Diocletian's mausoleum and the bell tower. The apartment was cozy and right in the action. It wasn't too close to any bars so luckily at night it wasn't too loud but if we walked a couple minutes in any direction we could find nightlife.

Overall our stay there was excellent and Michelle was a great help. She told us about a couple nice local restaurants and we stopped by one of them twice it was so good.
