We arrived late in the evening to be faced with the most ignorant receptionist known to man. We appeared to have disturbed him from eating his crisps and watching tv. He took photos of our passports on his personal phone with no explanation. Half way through our stay, we noticed water leaking through to the fuse board. When reported we were told to turn off the Aircon until they get it fixed (30 + degrees outside). 20 minutes before we had to leave the hotel (2days later), 2 blokes and another receptionist knocked the door to fix the Aircon, again , no apology. I would also like to mention the awful service in the beach bar , all the staff were rude and unhelpful, this seemed quite common in Split/Croatia… The only highlight from this s*** show was the lovely little lady who prepared breakfast and collected the dishes, she was awesome.

Nothing was good! Terrible hotel and terrible staff!!! This is not a hotel this is just a old hotel with the worst customer service ever!! Our lamp in the room didn’t work and the staff tried to talk it away. The staff at the place gave us small bedlamps and they didn’t call an electrician to fix it. We didn’t even get a discount or something! We payed extra to have good rooms but they gave us broken rooms! Avoid this place! Everything was bad! The staff were really bad and not service minded. Our lamp in the room didn’t work and the staff said that they could not do anything. They wanted to kick us out because we said that the room were broken. The staff came in our room screaming that we could go to a hostel! THE STAFF!!! The room were small and not good. Nothing worked here. Avoid this place. They also wanted us to pay extra for 2 rooms because they cancelled our 1 big room. They have no fridge for water. They had no cleaning and when the cleaner came one time in 5 days she just change toilet paper.

I have just come back from staying at the Jadran hotel in Split. I wish I had read the reviews before I booked the stay at this hotel as I made a huge mistake with this booking. I arrived at the Jadran Hotel a day early. This was completely my fault and I only realised after the receptionist had taken a picture of mine and my daughter’s passports and tried to check us in. When the receptionist was struggling to find my booking I suddenly realised my mistake! I felt sick, I had checked out of a hotel in Zadar and had travelled by bus to Split so had nowhere to stay that night. I asked the receptionist if she had a spare room but she didn’t. I asked if she knew of any local hotels nearby that I could try and she kindly phoned one for me. This is where her kindness ended. She spoke to the someone on the phone and then gave the phone to me and said “Hotel Corner has a room you can book” so I spoke to a man on the phone who said the room would be 170 euros for the night. I told him I would think about it and let him know and handed the phone back to the receptionist. She was confused about why I needed to think. I told her I didn’t have 170 euros to just book another room and I wanted to check other places. My daughter and I were trying to use Booking.Com app to search. The receptionist asked me why I needed to think so I said we were looking for alternatives and I then asked did hotel corner have a pool. She asked me why I would need a pool for one night “you just need somewhere to sleep, you have the beach to swim” I told her my daughter could not swim in the sea and she then told me that the Jadran did not have a pool. I explained that when I booked the hotel it stated it had a swimming pool and I had even contacted the hotel via booking.com messenger and asked was the pool open and had been told that it was. She said that the hotel had no pool and the pool outside belonged to the council. I asked could we use the pool and she said the pool belonged to the council so I would have to see them. She was very blunt and unapologetic for the fact I had been lied to about the pool. She then showed me the hotel website and said “see we do not have a pool” I then showed her the booking.com app which had the facilities of the hotel listed and the 3 times that it stated it had a pool. I also showed her the message from the hotel telling me the pool was open. She then went back to saying how I didn’t need a pool as the hotel was next to a beach and the way she was speaking to me was extremely rude and I told her that I felt she was being rude to me and she just said that she is still learning English. There was nothing wrong with her English. During this conversation about the pool and then me telling her I found her rude she then said “have you got somewhere to stay tonight?” in a very smug and condescending way. I told her I would sort my evening stay myself but I was very disappointed about the pool situation. In the meantime she had walked away from me and was talking to another couple in reception. I overheard her say to the lady that she wouldn’t talk to her and “can I just talk to your husband or boyfriend, not you as I have spoken to him before” and then turned to the man next to her and said that he had made a mistake, and then loudly said to us all, “2 mistakes have been made here, what will be the third” and was laughing about our situations. The couple were saying they had booked a seaview room and she was saying they hadn’t and again she was being rude, laughing that they thought a picture of seaview room on the booking page meant that’s what they were booking. She then came back over to me and said that there was nothing she could do about the pool so me and my daughter left. We were deeply disappointed in the situation we found ourselves in as we had been very much looking forward to staying in this hotel. My daughter loves swimming in the pool during the daytime, as do I, and she cannot go in the sea so the thought of no pool for a week just saddened us. Our stay at the Jadran was ruined from this moment forward. Booking.com did not help us. We had paid extra for a hotel with a pool but Booking.com were not willing to compensate us and neither was the Jadran. I asked for 200 euro’s compensation as I felt that this was the difference I would have paid less for another hotel that didn’t have a pool but I was dismissed. We arrived back the next day about 11.30 as we had to check out of our room at 11.00 and had nowhere else to go. I had previously messaged the Jadran hotel about checking in between 11 and 12 and they had replied to say they couldn’t guarantee this but would try. So when I arrived , I said “hello again” making a joke to lighten the situation from the day before and I said can we check in, and she said “no you can't it says on booking.com 3 o'clock check in, we've had a call about you and the problem and it's on booking.com that you cannot check in til 3.” I said “I know but I messaged and said I would like to check on between 11.00 and 12.00 and your hotel replied and said you would do your best”. She was just talking over me and saying “no check in is 3, like it says on booking.com.” I said not to worry and would it be OK to leave our cases which she allowed. Me and my daughter then went out for a couple of hours and when we returned at 2 o’clock she said our room still wasn’t ready. Another receptionist came over and asked were we OK and she said, in English, they know they cannot check in until 3, as if no attempt was being made to get our room ready. She checked in other couples but said our room wasn’t ready. We then went back at 2.30 and she was checking another couple in. When she had finished I said “hi can we check in please?”, she glanced at the clock and said “I will check”. She then said “no sorry you have to wait little bit longer”. So “I said no problem can we do the check in process so we are ready to go straight to our room when it is ready”, so she took our city tax and went took a picture of our passports again. She then said that she already had our passport photographs on the system from the day before. She then phoned someone and spoke in Croatian and hung up and said “sorry your room is 124 you have to wait little longer”. So, I was like fine, told my daughter I was going to use the toilet and went up the stairs to check the room, I'd seen it earlier when I went to use the toilet, and there was no cleaner there. She had literally just told me that the cleaner was just finishing the room and would call her when it was done. The door to our room was locked and the cleaners were right down the corridor. I went straight back down and she must have realised what I had done as she then gave my daughter the key! She had clearly made us wait un-necessarily and was just being cruel and heartless, knowing we had no-where to go and had been waiting since 11.30 to get into our room, she had prioritised other guests over us, even though I had messaged several days earlier the request to get into the room early. The room at the hotel was described as a Park View room. There is no view of the park from the room. The bed-linen was ripped and re-sown in parts, the toilet was dirty but other than this the room itself was OK, basic but OK. The 4 cats that liked to sit outside on the terrace made it impossible for me to sit out there. I am sure the hotel could do something to try and deter them but they don’t. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty terrible. The buffet style consisted of a plate of chicken and ham slices, a plate of cheese slices, a metal container of cocktail sausages and bacon (both of which were cold), a metal container of scrambled egg, a bowl of freezing cold boiled eggs, a bowl of fruit, (uncovered with flies in), a plate of sliced melon, (again uncovered and dried out), bowls of cereal, cornflakes, chocolate balls (?) and muesli (that were left out overnight with a plate covering them), long-life milk carton (warm as they were just left out on the side), fresh bread and jam, also croissants, chocolate and plain, yoghurts that I assume were warm as they were also left out on the side. There was also some jugs of iced water, but again these had flies in them. They had a drinks machine for hot drinks which I do not drink so cannot comment on the quality. They also had a cold drink dispenser with water, cherry juice and orange juice. The 2 fruit juices tasted very watered down so I just stuck to the water. The décor of the hotel is dated and dull. The corridors are dark with only half of the lights working and are very warm as they do not have any air-conditioning switched on in the central parts of the hotel (except I did notice on one of the hotter days the air-con in the reception was on). The windows are dirty and have dirty off-white coloured material draped over them. There is a tree in the centre of the hotel up the stairway, which is shedding its leaves all over the place and no-one is clearing them up. The hotel states it has a 24 hour reception desk. When we first arrived it took over 5 minutes for a member of staff to appear, even when other guests were ringing the bell on reception. I was asked to leave my key when we left the hotel which I did for the first night. When we arrived back at the hotel at 10.15 that evening, there was no-one in sight, the front door to the hotel was wide open and my key (along with others) had been placed on the reception desk, about 2 metres away from the open door. As the hotel rooms have no safe, that was the last time I left my key with reception. There were occasions when we arrived back at the hotel of an evening and there was an old man sat watching TV, I can only assume he is the hotel security? However, he didn’t do anything when a couple of girls seemed to have been locked out of their room by their friend on the inside and were hammering on the door to be let in. This lasted about half an hour with them shouting and going up and down the corridor and banging very loudly on the door and kicking it. The hotel also states that it has a restaurant and bar. There is no bar and by restaurant, do not be misled by the photographs on their site, this is not a restaurant in which there is a menu with waiters etc. this is simply where the buffet breakfast is laid out for you to help yourself. There is a daily maid service but due to the fact my daughter had nothing to do during the day she spent most of it inside and therefore we only allowed the maid service in the once. They changed some of our towels but not all of them, even the dirty bath mat wasn’t replaced which I found quite odd. The hotel states that it has a swimming pool which is simply not true. The messages asked by guests on booking.com and answered untruthfully by the hotel relating to the pool are simply misleading and an attempt to get customers to book with them. It is an absolute disgrace that this is allowed to happen and that booking.com do not do more to protect it’s customers from this sort of thing Positives about this hotel there were a couple of staff who smiled and seemed friendly. The lady running the breakfast buffet was smiley and said hello. Oh, and the location is good. There is also a data protection concern I have about this hotel. Once they had realised that I was not due to stay at the hotel until the next day, why did they keep the copy of my passport? This is a data protection breach and I am now concerned about how they keep and store my details.

Let's start with the positive points, it is in a very good location a 15min walk from the main town, the rooms (although small) were good, the two younger members of staff were helpful. Unfortunately that's it, hotel security was a joke, our keys were left on the reception counter in the evenings so the night porter didn't have to get off the settee in the reception to help us (on several occasions he was not in the reception), very often the reception was unmanned for long periods when the keys were in the pigeon holes, we helped ourselves as could anyone else. Our rooms were not made up daily and when I questioned why I was informed that they were only a 3 star hotel so they didn't have to. We paid extra for "a sea view" - please see the attached pic, 2 dirty semi-derelict swimming pools with the sea in the distance. The so called cooked breakfast items were cold every day, you cannot keep two large metal containers hot with burners similar to night light candles, they don't even have a toaster and the milk was long life out of a carton, they couldn't be bothered to put it in a jug. We were assured that there would be parking for our vehicle, another joke, the hotel car park was constantly crammed full with cars parked at all angles and positions from people using the beach, we complained to the night porter and reluctantly he moved his vehicle to squeeze ours in, that night the rear light got smashed. There was rarely more than one member of staff at the hotel at any one time, the older staff members were miserable and customer service was an alien concept for them. This hotel could be much better if the staff were positive and helpful (the younger members tried) and there was an element of managerial control which appears to be completely absent. We toured Croatia from top to bottom over 12 days staying at 4 hotels (all 3 star) - this hotel was our only disappointment on the whole trip.

Good parking in front of hotel. Reasonably located for the front but 20mins to centre. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great room view with balcony over pool and marina. Room was a bit on the small side. No tea or coffee facilities in the room nor laundry service. Breakfast was very basic but only a few rooms occupied. Reasonable priced but may have found better value elsewhere

Except location of hotel which is basically 15 minutes walk from center everything else is not good: busy parking lot, noisy environment, very basic breakfast choices, no wifi coverage in rooms, unavailable pool (almost always busy by local sport club), tiny small rooms with no any service, etc. etc.

I have to say, this was not the greatest experience .... tricky parking lot, signs not clear, rude staff TINY room, not the cleanest. We booked a room for 5 people and walked into a den.... 2 bunk beds and a trundle bed - not enough room to put luggage anywhere so we had to get ready one person at a time, shower was tiny, I mean I am not picky but my 9 year old barely fit in it. “Balcony” was a walk out literally into a wall in an alley that smelled like sewage and mould. Pool was not easily accessible, no towels. “Beach” was actually a dock which had VERY rough water - we could not go it. The one good thing about his hotel was that it was in a good spot- walking distance to city square, lots of restaurants and night life.

Stayed at Hotel Jadran for 2 nights in a quadruple family room. Firstly, the hotel is more like a sports centre than a hotel and not in a positive way. It certainly didn’t give us the feel of being on holiday and I was so glad we were only there for 2 nights. The pool advertised is a public swimming pool used by swimming clubs with very restricted use for hotel guests and also no sun loungers, etc than would be more akin to a normal hotel pool. The pool should be not be advertised on hotel advert or should at least detail its restrictions. Only a few parking spaces for the hotel, the vast majority being free public parking spaces which were usually full, so finding a space was very difficult. Now for the room, which was very tired with 2 creaky metal bunks. It was advertised as having a terrace but this amounted to about a 1m width, looking straight on to a high stone wall with very limited light. It was separated to the the ‘terrace’ of the next adjoining room by a curtain type divider that didn’t even go to the floor. Electrical cable taped but hanging out of the bathroom wall and hole in the wall of the bedroom. We tried to change the room but no other family room’was availablé, the lady on reception who I believe was the owners wife was quite rude to us. Breakfast was also very limited. Some nice fruit but croissants ran out one morning at 9am and I was told they didn’t have anymore. Milk for cereals was long life and had not been refrigerated, so it was warm.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 days during our recent trip to Split. I would say this is a budget hotel with very little to offer. The good stuff first. Clean rooms AC in the rooms Daily change of towels Nice staff Average breakfast Close enough to the city center (20 min walk) The bad Bath room was very small No pool (Hotel is next to a public swimming complex where the guest have no access) We had a balcony room overlooking the public pool which was noisey from 6am to 9pm No place in the hotel to relax except on some plastic chairs outdoors No restaurant Walls were so thin we could here everything from the next room TV channels were useless 145 Euro for night was a rip off

The blonde lady at the reception, who is actually the owners wife, and the owner are two awful human being, and because of their faces I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying there. Her communication to the customer is low, she accuses everyone of not doing their job but she doesn’t do it well. Avoid at any cost of being disappointed or attacked or accused by these people for something not so important, cause if they are asking for trouble they will find a way to accuse you of something.
